Capital Hoedown Update: It’s officially cancelled, credit card refunds promised
Bad news are better given quick.
Capital Hoedown is now officially cancelled. Refunds will be given back through your credit card, said the organizers through a news release. According to the Ottawa Citizen, Denis Benoit, founder of the festival, announced the official cancellation on Monday, July 9.
“All ticket buyers will be able to receive a credit card refund … there is no need to contact the ticket office,” said the news release. “If you do not see the refund on your statement within one-week, we ask that you contact your credit card company.”

Front Gate Tickets has also officially washed its hands from all the Capital Hoedown mess by sending an e-mail to all its customers stating they were not hired to retain or process payments – hence they don’t have the money and are not processing any refunds. This directs the problem back at the Capital Hoedown organizers. They even said you can formally dispute your charge with your bank or credit card company.
