RED Tour Finale in Singapore: Long Live the RED Tour!
We knew it was going to happen, Taylor Nation.
But somewhere along the line, the RED Tour got bigger. And longer. And we wish it would go on forever, or at least long enough to reach other countries. Other continents that she’s never visited (COUGH SOUTH AMERICA COUGH). All good things come to an end. And they did. The RED Tour had its last concert in Singapore, on June 12, 2014. It did go around the globe, not everywhere, not every country, not every continent. But at least it spanned most timezones.
The last secret song of the tour was from Speak Now. A very overlooked album if you ask me. This song remains the goodbye anthem that brings a tear and a smile to my face every time. I love this song on its original version and its acoustic version. Although never officially confirmed, this is a song that is believed to have been based on the moment when The Agency was brought up to the stage when Taylor received the CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year back in 2009 (“a band of thieves in ripped up jeans got to rule the world”). Its meaning was expanded to include her entire team – and us fans.
Thanks to countgoosten for posting!
Time to save up, Taylor Nation. We’re probably going to see each other again on the next tour! But first… bring that 5th album.
Coming up on the Calendar!
- RED Tour Concert withdrawals where we re-watch concert footage on YouTube over and over.
- Swifties wait for the 5th album with baited breath. Not that we’re impatient or anything. Nope. Not a bit. Is it out yet? No? How about now?
- The official word for the 5th album is probably going to be “soon”. They should stop using that word. I don’t think it means what they think it means.
