Mine at the CMA Music Festival and the VMA nomination

The Fearless One filmed a top-secret performance of her upcoming new single, Mine, to be broadcasted with the CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock, a TV Special that will air on ABC on September 1st. Tim McGraw, who makes us think of Taylor Swift for some unknown reason (yeah weird huh, when I think of Tim, I also think of Taylor, somebody ought to write a song or something), will be doing the hosting duties. Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert and other stars are set to perform.

People magazine thinks this is something of a sneak peek since the album doesn’t come out until October 25. Swifties know better. Mine, the first single of Speak Now, will be released August 16 way ahead of the broadcast. Still, we all will be looking forward to hearing it performed live for the first time.

MTV News announced the Fearless One is up for VMA Female Video of the Year again, this time for Fifteen. Unless you live under a rock, you remember what happened last year (if you don’t, I am not reminding you). She goes against Lady Gaga who has a whopping 13 nominations, Beyonce, Kesha and Katy Perry. The VMAs air September 12 at 9pm ET. Go to the Video Music Awards site and vote!

And you should know by now Fox is jumping into the country awards fray by launching their very own American Country Awards to air in December 6 from Las Vegas. As reported by CMT News, the awards will be completely fan-voted.

The Calendar has been updated with all the new events.

Coming up in August 9, are the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles. Taylor Swift is nominated for Choice Music Female Artist and Choice Music Female Country Artist. Valentine’s Day is nominated for Choice Movie Romantic Comedy. Don’t expect Taylor to make an appearance though... she has two shows in Japan this weekend. Correction: The Teen Choice Awards has announced the Sparkly Dressed is scheduled to appear. Please VOTE! Or the guitar comes out… and this time I will do much worse than hitting you over the head with it. I will play it. Be afraid 🙂
