CMA Festival special, 13-hour highlights and the secret live performance of Mine

It was a great show, and we did get to see the takes from the fabled 13-hour Meet & Greet. More than a few fans got to see each other. The Fearless One was more than adorable when holding kids. With her band on site, her costumes, the T-Party Room, the tour bus, it looked a lot more like… like a Taylor Swift convention. An idea that I once named SwiftCon really materialized that day.

I’m not sure if this is going to last, but this is the video for the 13-hour Meet & Greet segment.

And then there was the secret live performance of Mine. The lucky swifities are finally off the hook after keeping this secret for so long. Want to see it? Go ahead.

There were great performances by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood who also got a little skit poking some fun at themselves. Also on hand were the great country acts of Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler, Reba, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band among others. I’m really sorry if I’m missing your favorite artists, there were so many that the three hours seemed short.

Very few specials are as jam packed as this one. So many performers in the same show makes for some interesting choices. More often than not, the last performance before the commercial was interrupted with previews for the next segment. We’d hope a little more emphasis on the big acts like Lady Antebellum who got one performance of Our Kind of Love with some behind the scenes footage. I wouldn’t have opted to give Kid Rock two performances of his own plus one extra. That’s my only beef to pick with the selection for this show.

On September 9, the Fearless One will perform at kickoff time in New Orleans for the Saints vs. Vikings game to be broadcast on NBC at 7:30pm ET.

Coming up next on September 12, the MTV Video Music Awards airs on MTV at 9/8c. Taylor Swift is nominated for Female Video of the Year for Fifteen.

The 44th Annual CMA Awards ceremony takes place live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN on November 10. The event airs on ABC. Taylor is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year.

Oh, and just so you know Taylor left this entry in the Taylor Connect forums. She’s seen the comments for the video of Mine and she’s happy. Then she leaves saying she’s going to work on another video blog now. Oh, that Taylor… Always working on- WAIT, DID SHE SAY VIDEO BLOG?
