Mexico will get a short visit from Taylor Swift and RIAA news!

Mexican Swifties might have to pick themselves off the floor when I post this. Sorry, this is not a concert for the Speak Now tour. Or at least, not yet.

Taylor Swift will perform on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas while the ship is in Cozumel, Mexico. That means the Outspoken One will be setting foot in Mexican territory, but performing on a boat. Insert obligatory T-Pain I’m On A Boat reference here. You can read about the on board concert on the Royal Caribbean Blog.

However, some lucky Swifties also get a chance to see the Outspoken One. According to, radio contest winners will be treated to a rare concert. Based on the short timetable, I’m going to guess this is the same concert that takes place on board the cruise ship.

Back in December, Speak Now was certified triple platinum. Now the RIAA have released the 2010 gold and platinum award winners. Along with the Sparkly Dressed, we have the talents of Lady Antebellum and Susan Boyle. Taylor retains the title of the top certified solo artist of digital singles in RIAA G&P history with 16.5 million downloads certified.

And finally, Speak Now, has relinquished the top spot in the Billboard for this week to Cake’s latest album Showroom of Compassion. Last week, T-Swizzle had the dubious honor of being the top seller in what was the lowest music selling week in history. That’s no longer the case, as this week has now become the new lowest record in music sales, and the top seller has the new lowest number. You can read the story on Billboard.
