The Billboard Music Awards 2011 has announced their full list of nominations. As expected (because I didn’t hear of anybody else selling a million albums on their release week) the Sparkly Dressed made the list with multiple entries. She is up for Country Artist, Top Country Album for Speak Now, Top Country Song for Mine, Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album. Anybody else ecstatic that Speak Now is finally eligible for awards?

Also up for some awards is Lady Antebellum representing with Top Country Artist, Top Country Album for Need You Now, Top Country Song for Need You Now, Top Duo/Group, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album for Need You Now and Top Streaming Song (Audio) for Need You Now.

I want to thank Country Music Is Love for compiling the categories both Taylor and Lady Antebellum are in.

According to the press release the awards take a holistic look at artist performance based on key fan interactions with music—finalists and winners are determined by chart performance and social and streaming activity as chronicled in Billboard magazine and on Billboard.com during the eligibility period of February 28, 2010 through March 1, 2011. The forty-six award categories are based on measures provided by Billboard’s data partners including sales data shared by Nielsen SoundScan, radio airplay monitored by Nielsen BDS, streaming data measured by Tubemogul and Nielsen BDS, social media consumption gauged by Next Big Sound and tour grosses tracked by Billboard Boxscore.

Everybody got that? No? Ok, let me translate. They’ll look at a bunch of stats and pick a winner from the artists that show at the top.

The Billboard Music Awards 2011 will air live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on ABC on Sunday, May 22nd at 8:00 PM Eastern / 5:00PM Pacific.
