Miss Swift goes to Washington

Hello, Taylor Nation!

The Sparkly Dressed made the best out of her trip to the US capital. She’s played two sold-out Speak Now Tour concerts to a lot of critical acclaim. Here’s The Washington Post review. This has to be one of the best reviews I have read because rather than just giving the concert a review, the author went a bit further and got impressions from Taylor fans. The article comes to the conclusion that at the heart of Taylor Swift, emotions are real and everything else is irrelevant.

That’s self-confessed-Abraham-Lincoln-history-buff Grant Mickelson, dancer Claire Callaway, fiddle player Caitlin Evanson and cat shirt lover Outspoken One Taylor Swift visiting Abe Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial. Someone should teach The Washington Times how to get the high resolution version of the picture from Yfrog (click the zoom). It’s a friendly jab guys, not hatin’ on ya 😉

According to Celebrity-Gossip.net, the Queen of Sparks also took a more somber visit to the Arlington Cemetery to pay her respects on August 3. She put flowers on John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy’s grave sites.

For the Speak Now Tour concert on August 3, she wrote a quote on her arm: “I dream of things that never were, and ask why not” – Robert F. Kennedy. This is the first time she uses a famous quote instead of lyrics. Her previous Arm Lyrics the night before were: “I guess to build yourself up so high you had to take her and break her down” – Keith Urban, Stupid Boy.

Here are the Covers:

Marvin Gaye’s I Heard It Through The Grapevine and Mya’s Ghetto Superstar at the Verizon Arena in Washington, D. C. on August 2, 2011.

Lisa Loeb’s Stay (I Missed You) and Tori Amos A Sorta Fairytale at the Verizon Arena in Washington, D. C. on August 3, 2011.

Thanks to Mulliga for the link! We do keep track of all Arm Lyrics and Covers 🙂
