Rumor Control: You don’t know what you don’t know

(Source: Big Machine Records)

Hello Taylor fans!

In case you haven’t noticed there’s a buzz going around that the Outspoken One has been offered the part of Eponine in the big screen adaptation of Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables. The source is… well, actually there is no source. The media source that broke the story was the NY Post back in November 2011 citing “known sources”. Since then, the story has gone around so much that eventually every news site has commented on it.

It’s unconfirmed. Which is why I have completely, intentionally, dodged it. Nobody knows whether there’s truth to it.

My respects to the Huffington Post, who actually took the time to search how the story started from a rumor back in November last year to a report from Twitchfilm to a confirmation on BroadwayWorld.com. How much of it is true? Did T-Swizzle really got offered the role? Did she won it over established actresses?

We here at the Swift Agency, one guy who is still skeptical, didn’t really want to add my two cents to this. Nevertheless with The Tennessean, Entertainment Weekly and E! Online, “breaking” the story, I guess I’ll chime in. I think… that since there has been no confirmation from Taylor’s camp, I can’t say to what degree -if any- the story is true or not. Sorry.

The Sparkly Dressed’s next appearance is this Wednesday, January 11! The Outspoken One should be attending People’s Choice Awards 2012 where she is nominated for Favorite Country Artist, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Tour Headliner. Faith Hill is scheduled to perform. I can’t imagine Taylor missing this one.

Coming up in the Calendar!

  • January 11: People’s Choice Awards 2012. Taylor is nominated for Favorite Country Artist, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Tour Headliner.
  • February 12: The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Taylor Swift is nominated for Best Country Album for Speak Now, Best Country Song for Mean and Best Country Solo Performance for Mean. The show will be broadcast live on CBS from 8:00pm to 11:30pm ET/PT.

    1. Wiki is not a credible site. A fan could have posted that. I am skeptical also about Taylor’s role since she and her management haven’t confirmed anything.

      1. Brian was being sarcastic by mentioning Wikipedia. The sources mentioned beside NY Post are Twitchfilm and BroadwayWorld.
