Tribute to the Eagles: Tequila Sunrise at House of Blues Cleveland

Here at the Swift Agency, still just a guy who’s thankful for the chances he gets to blog about stuff he loves, we’re really lucky to have had the chance to finally see Tequila Sunrise live at House of Blues Cleveland on June 15. The band’s current incarnation has The Agency’s Paul Sidoti on guitar, Mike Meadows also on guitar and Amos J. Heller on bass. The band also features Colin Whinnery on guitar, Jody Harris on drums as well as Sam Haddix and Derek Braunschweiger.

The band really brought it home. You could feel each of them was in their complete comfort zone as they took the stage. I am familiar, but not really an expert on The Eagles enough to judge how close to the original they came, but as a music lover I will say it was a great performance and I believe they more than did justice to the songs I’ve heard.

  1. Hey-my wife and I just happened to be in Cleveland this past weekend to visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Looking for something to do Friday night, we called around and found out the Tequila Sunrise was playing. We were not disappointed! As a huge Eagles fan from way back, and as a musician who plays several Eagles tunes myself, I was impressed not only with the individual talents, but the accuracy to which they played the arrangements. You could even tell what songs they took from “Eagles Live”,” Hell Freezes Over” and “Farewell Tour I” for the live arrangements. We live near Milwaukee, and if they every get to Wisconsin or northern Illinois, you can bet we’ll come out and see them again. Well done, boys…well done indeed!
