Here at The Swift Agency, still one guy who’s amazed that he gets such loyal readers, we’re going to shine our spotlight – actually more of a flashlight – actually let’s be honest, I’m just holding up my phone – to one of those other artists that we admire so much. While the 2012 CMA Fest was going on, there was another music festival happening in Manchester, Tennessee: the Bonnaroo Arts and Music Festival. Bringing the tent down was the grammy-award winning duo of The Civil Wars.
John Paul White and Joy Williams were not alone on stage. Joy’s noticeable baby bump gave away the fact she was due to give birth in 10 days from their performance. The duo will take a break from touring for a while after they played the festival.
“There’s just no sweeter way to sort of bow-tie (the last 18 months) than with Bonnaroo,” Joy Williams told Chris Talbott from the Associated Press. “It was so fun. And the baby was just kicking like crazy. I think all that noise from the crowd in between the songs, there was no time for napping in the tummy. And the adrenaline, as well. I’m sure kept the baby up. It’s bittersweet, as well. I’m kind of emotional about it. I blame the hormones.”
