News Update: Gloriana climbs the charts! The Screaming Headless Torsos are headed for Mexico

(Photo: Emblem Records, Inc.)

Hello Taylor Nation,

Here at the Swift Agency, still one guy who doesn’t know what he wants so don’t ask me I’m still trying to figure it out, we’re already listening to Gloriana’s new album, A Thousand Miles Left Behindwhich is climbing the charts already and onto the iTunes top ten. You can get it at music stores everywhere or online on iTunes.

The MTV 2012 Video Music Awards  just lost big. No nominations were announced for the Sparkly Dressed. At the very least I expected one for B.o.B’s Both Of Us but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Unfortunately it’s more their loss that it is the Outspoken One’s. It’s not a punishment, but I don’t feel inclined to watch without T-Swizzle.

The Agency’s own conga player, Danny Sadownick, will perform in Mexico City, Mexico on September 13 as part of the Screaming Headless Torsos, an experimental jazz/funk band formed in 1989 consisting of guitarist David Fiuczynski, vocalist Dean Bowman, bassist Fima Ephron and of course, Daniel as the percussionist. You can get tickets at Ticketmaster. Here’s their video announcement:

A shoutout to @_Jencita_ for letting us know 🙂

On other news, Tyler Hilton will be performing through the StageIt website on August 31st at 8pm EDT. You will need to buy a virtual ticket to see the online performance.

The Enchantress is scheduled to perform on the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Saturday, September 22. Tickets to the festival were available on Ticketmaster, but we hear the show is sold out. According to CWTV.com the CW will broadcast the iHeartRadio music festival on October 1st at 8pm Eastern time (no, it’s not live). Additionally, iHeartRadio.com will be streaming the audio of the performances online here, but we keep getting a warning it’s US only. Hopefully, there’s a way to see it or hear it worldwide when the show happens.

News Update: Gloriana’s album is released! And where is the Sparkly Dressed?

(Photo: China Foto Press)

Here at the Swift Agency, still one guy who’s got a busy summer, we’re happy to announce you can buy Gloriana’s new album, A Thousand Miles Left Behind, right now! We saw them perform again in Nashville during the CMA Fest 2012, and they’ve grown up musically. Additionally, E! Online just learned that Tom Gossin proposed to his longtime girlfriend Jamie Moffett back in March 1st. They are engaged to be married in October 2013. Tom even told E! News that before saying yes, she said “There’s no way you’re getting up and singing at our wedding. Don’t even think about it.” He laughed. Don’t forget to pick up their album, now available on iTunes!

Anybody has seen a Blonde With A Sparkly Guitar? Well… actually it’s more like who hasn’t (put your hand down, everyone – it was a figure of speech). The elusive formerly curly songstress showed up in New York City according to pictures from China Foto Press. According to LoHud.com, she was also seen in Marcella’s Pizza in Mount Kisko, NY with Conor Kennedy on July 26. Which means… she was having pizza with Conor Kennedy. By the way, I’ve double checked – that’s how you spell his name. There’s been a bunch of lucky fans that have been lucky enough to snap some pics with the Outspoken One in Cape Cod as lately as yesterday (July 30).

And Scott Borchetta gave us (as in all the Taylor Nation fandom) his definition of ‘soon’ as ‘early September’ through Twitter. That could be anything… although if I had to take a guess, I’d have to agree with the majority and say it’s the first single from the new album, since it would made sense she would release a single before the iHeartRadio Music Festival so she can showcase it there. Then again, it could be something completely different. We’ll see. Soon. (Argh!)

Things that shine and the rocks that get thrown at them. An Editorial

(Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

Hello Taylor Nation,

For those who just tuned in, most of my posts are news articles. My editorials are actual blogs where I speak my mind about a particular subject. I also get long and wordy so I won’t blame you if you skip this one. Today I’d like to talk about some things that shine… and the rocks that get thrown at them.

Respect. You’d think this is a given. Still, recently someone decided to hack Claire Callaway’s account in Facebook and Twitter. I want to believe that it was just a hacker because if it’s an overzealous fan we’ve got trouble in the ranks. Please don’t believe that being a fan gives you rights to intrude into other people’s lives. These are regular people we’re talking about. The Agency and the Residents’ Dance Crew are always friendly, but there is a line you should not cross. You may not realize it, but not too many  artists’ touring bands and dance crews are willing to come out and talk to the fans when their names are not in the roster.

Banter. I know the younger Swifties sometimes can’t tell the difference, but there’s a lot of joking around as well as irony and sarcasm into friendly conversation. I remember when I first started blogging, I posted something that one of the members of the Agency had told me in jest. That means as a joke. It was just banter between us. But, it got misconstrued by some people as if I was showing off. I’ve learned since then not to blog about banter with The Agency, even though for me, it’s always funny and friendly. Some people just don’t get it at all.

Kindness. I try to think about the Enchantress before I write something. Yes, she’s made her personal life public but I don’t like it when someone drags her name through the mud to get a couple of hits. There are things that I won’t publish, and they’re usually on tabloids. And while we’re on the subject, here’s a rant. Could some Swifties take it easy with Grant? Everytime he mentions he likes a song from another artist other than the Sparkly Dressed, there’s people jumping on his back as if he had just confessed to a crime. Rant over, sorry.

Competition. The more fan sites open up, the quicker news get to everyone. I am not here to win anything. If I can get your readership, I’m happy. It’s also automatic. The day might come when I don’t get a single view and then I’ll know it’s time to go. I guess this just me saying be kind to other Taylor sites. If you have one, be glad you do. If you don’t and don’t like any of the other sites out there, consider starting your own.

Crediting. I have my own standards regarding properly crediting media based on fair use and sourcing information, but I don’t want to impose those on y’all. I don’t think myself better for respecting copyrighted material. If you don’t want to do it, that’s fine and I’m not going to say a word. Myself I credit when it’s media such as a picture that I’m using under the copyright law for fair use. I source when it’s information from a reliable source (sorry your cousin’s friend’s neighbor doesn’t count as a source – tabloids such as the Star don’t count either). For anything else, I usually give out shoutouts if you were helpful, nice or I think you deserve one 🙂

I’m sorry if it sounds like I am preaching. I try to be on the side of the things that shine, but I know sometimes in the past I’ve also been the guy with the rock. I just keep trying to be nicer to people. I heard from someone who plays a shiny guitar that being nice to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind.

News Update: The Sparkly Dressed’s Malibu photoshoot and upcoming 2013 Calendar

(Photo: AKM Images/GSI Media)

Hello Taylor Nation,

Here at the Swift Agency, still one guy who actually took a break the last few days, we’re back at work. The Sparkly Dressed has been busy, but she has yet to reveal the Stuff About To Happen. I’ve noticed more than a few people keep sending her links with the definition of “soon”. Calendar Club has given the fans the first images from her upcoming 2013 calendar.

Based on Twitter accounts from the folks at iHeartRadio, she has been performing a new single privately for people of selected media sources. I’m not fond on using Twitter accounts as sources, but that’s all I’ve got to go on.

Celebrity Gossip reports Enchantress sightings in Malibu, backed up with pictures, of a photoshoot. The rest of the gossip in there is unconfirmed, by the way. As the Outspoken One confirms in this clip of an interview from the Teen Choice Awards, she’s not dating Patrick Schwarzenegger. There was no coyness in the response whatsoever, so that’s a direct confirmation for me. Thanks to the Taylor SwiftArchive for the clip:

I hate even having to print this out, but the rumor that the Queen of Sparks will be awarded the Ripple of Hope Award because she was dating Patrick is as false as the rumor of her dating Patrick to begin with! The list of her achievements is not made up. Unfortunately, any relation with people in the political spotlight brings with it the apparent right for the tabloid press to drag one’s dignity through the mud. Yes, I know there’s even more rumors out there… Some of them very hurtful. Please don’t believe everything you see online. If it comes from a tabloid, chances are it’s not true.

Taylor Swift is scheduled to perform on the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Saturday, September 22. Tickets to the festival were available on Ticketmaster, but we hear the show is sold out.

The Teen Choice Awards 2012: The Queen of Sparks wins everything… again

Hello Taylor Nation,

(Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

Here at the Swift Agency, one guy that rarely gets to the point without first making a silly joke about it, we’re happy to report that the Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar won everything at the Teen Choice Awards 2012. That is, she won every single award she was nominated for:

  • Choice Female Artist
  • Choice Single by a Female Artist for Eyes Open
  • Choice Female Country Artist
  • Choice Country Song for Sparks Fly.
  • Choice Movie Voice for The Lorax.

That raises her total amount to 20 surfboards, making her the top female artist winner!

The awards show was hosted by Demi Lovato and Kevin McHale. The Sparkly Dressed kept stealing the show, showing up dancing on screen when Flo Rida performed because she was among the very few that were dancing. T-Swizzle came on stage first when she won Choice Female Artist, and then it was announced she had won all her other nominations as well. It was really adorable to see her there and… Ok, let’s go to the video 🙂

Thanks to @Jennception for posting the video clip!

The Enchantress was really cute about thanking all the people whose projects she was involved in for the awards she received, like T. Burnett for the Hunger Games and Zac Efron and company for The Lorax. She also would reappear later to present the Choice Movie Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actor to Josh Hutcherson.

I specially loved this picture of the Sparkly Dressed meeting Sophie Grace and Rosie again. The two Ellen proteges would later win a Teen Choice Award of their own.
