News Update: Tay and Ed to play on Britain’s Got Talent. Poppy Thompson. Ed speaks!

What’s the frequency, Taylor Nation.

Here at the Swift Agency, still a guy who’s got his bag almost packed, we’re ready for the Music City. No, wait I’m not. I’m never ready for that city. I still get very nervous about meeting people, so if I work up the courage to say hello to you I hope you say hello back.

Here’s the Princess in Red holding Poppy, daughter of Maya Thompson. Maya is Ronan’s mom and a proud member of the Taylor Nation.

The Enchantress and Ed Sheeran will be playing on the finale of Britain’s Got Talent, according to Tellymix. The live final takes place on Saturday, June 8. For those keeping a schedule, she’s playing Capital FM’s Summertime Ball 2013 the very next day, June 9, at Wembley Stadium.

Here’s Ed on a recent interview for Mix 105.1. You can read a transcript of the interview on their site or try to guess what question he’s answering, which it’s kind of fun. Or perhaps it’s a little too early for me. Take it away, Ed!

Thanks to Martin Cox for posting! Also, thanks to @MelanieAuker for letting me know I had mess up the month on my last post. Sorry to my email subscribers who have ample evidence that I make typos when I blog at odd hours. That’ll teach me to send the ninjas to bed early.

RED Tour Glendale: Starlight. Amos, Paul & Fender. A story from Tim Roberts. Taylor, the perfume.

What a marvelous tune, Taylor Nation.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who tends to over think everything, we’re over planning things for CMA Fest and we know these things will change. Are you voting for Taylor for the 2013 CMT Awards?

The Princess in Red played a second night at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, AZ last night, May 29. I just had to use this picture of The Agency’s bass player extraordinaire, Amos J. Heller, taken by his wife, Karah Heller. That’s an amazing shot.

Paul Sidoti didn't wait long to bust out brand new Fender custom Strat - AZ (Photo: Fender)

The badass bassist also visited Fender HQ yesterday. Fender returned the favor by attending the RED Tour concert and watching Amos and fellow Agency guitar player Paul Sidoti perform on stage. Paul busted out his new custom Fender Stratocaster that he had just picked up from them.

Care to take a walk down memory lane? You should really check out the story of how Tim Roberts, known radio programmer from Detroit, played his part in Taylor Nation history in helping further along a fifteen year old Sparkly Dressed’s early career. Excellent story at Metro Times, well worth your time. Thanks to Paul Whitmoor for the heads up!

The secret song last night, May 29, at Jobing.com arena was Starlight. This is the song that was inspired by Ethel Kennedy. I have to confess, it’s not my favorite. The lyrics do evoke a classic young romance from times gone by, but something about the melody has never quite clicked with me. That’s just my opinion though. Let’s go to the clip!

The Healing The Heartland concert took place last night. You can still donate to help the victims of the tornado in Oklahoma.

The Enchantress has released a third perfume, just named Taylor. “My first two fragrances were more about fairytales,” she tells People, “but this fragrance is more about my own style, so I wanted the name to be more personal.” The new fragrance will hit Ulta stores and Ulta.com in late June. You can read the original story at People.

RED Tour Glendale: Can’t turn back now, I’m Haunted

(Source: Taylor Swift via Twitter)

Come on don’t leave me like this, Taylor Nation.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who gets up early just to blog about Taylor, we might just be getting ready to give you a third edition of the Nashville Diaries as we get ready for the 2013 CMA Fest! The Sparkly Dressed will be performing at the 2013 CMT Awards on June 5 and at the 2013 CMA Fest on the first night at LP Field, June 6.

Watch that jump, T-Swizzle… I always worry when she does that.

The Princess in Red played the first of two nights at  Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona last night, May 28. The wildcard song of the night was Haunted. One of the most visually impacting highlights of the past Speak Now Tour, this song has this dark but fascinating overtones. It was one of those tracks you just wanted to brag around to people who have only heard two songs from Taylor on pop radio and think that’s all she wrote. Although still a great song when just played on an acoustic guitar, it really deserves the orchestra treatment, like the alternate version you find in the deluxe edition of the Speak Now album.

Thanks to Alexa Landry for posting! Great acoustic performance, but I really miss the violin in this song.

The Phoenix New Times has this good piece on analyzing what is it that makes people dislike the Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar. Unfortunately, the subject is kind of a hater magnet. If I might throw my two cents in, one possibility may be that the mainstream radio overplays the most pop-intensive singles and that’s all people know. I wish Haunted would get played on the radio, but I don’t think it ever became a single to begin with.

This shot below is from the Dallas concert at the Cowboys Stadium, but it’s a cool one so I thought I’d put it here.

Showcase: Caitlin Evanson’s new music on Soundcloud

Hello, Taylor Nation

Here at the Swift Agency, still a guy who likes to showcase The Agency’s individual talent when we get the chance, we’re happy to hear more music from Caitlin Evanson. She posted these songs on Soundcloud almost a week ago. I’ve been meaning to shine light on these new tracks for a while. Never too late 🙂

Here’s an excellent picture of the fiery fiddler on her element by Ash Newell Photography. Mr. Newell should sound familiar as he’s also the artist behind the posters for Paul Sidoti.
