Pray for Oklahoma, Taylor Nation.

A tornado spread devastation across 17 miles between the city of Newcastle and the city Moore in the state of Oklahoma last Monday, May 20. The disaster left a toll of 24 people dead, 237 people injured, 2,400 homes damaged and about 10,000 people directly affected. You can read updates on CNN and local station KFOR.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who hopes you include the victims in your thoughts and prayers, we’re aware it’s not popular to bring attention to suffering and sadness on what is essentially a celebrity blog. That being said, I’m always keen to show that the Taylor Nation is very aware of the worldly events as is Taylor.

The Blonde With The Sparkly RED Guitar took a moment in last night’s concert at the Frank Erwin Center to ask her audience to pray for the victims of the Oklahoma tornado. She then proceed to give us the classic song of the night, Safe And Sound. This song is essentially a lullaby, originally conceived for the Hunger Games soundtrack by the Enchantress along with The Civil Wars and T Bone Burnett. The lullaby became a prayer last night, as most lullabies tend to do.

Safe And Sound remains one of the most underrated songs from the Sparkly Dressed. She, along with T Bone Burnett and The Civil Wars received a Grammy award back in January for this song. It highlights the vocal talents of Tay along with those of Joy and John Paul. The lyrics and the melody is beautiful. I wish I could put this song up to critics that only know the more pop-heavy tracks.
