Nashville Diaries: Fan club parties and celebrity games during CMA Fest Week

The week of CMA Fest offers many events prior to the festival that will make a busy week busier, but full of entertainment potential.

One of the most sought out are the Fan Club Parties organized by an artist’s team for their fandom. Sometimes they involve your membership, a ticket lottery, secret locations, filling out a request, etc. Other times they’re as simple as buying at ticket. Depending on what you’re looking for, they might be just up your alley. If you are a member of a fanclub you will get what the particulars are.

Take for example, Lee Brice and Jerrod Niemann’s Fan Bash this year. I was impressed with the organization of this event, not airtight perfect but good nonetheless. They had setup a venue that could house everyone attending, prepared food for them and even had additional entertainment to keep people busy and on their seats while they started the Meet & Greet portion. In execution, the M&G took a lot longer than expected, but I still think without the organization it might not even happen. The event was on its third year benefitting the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Another type of event you might want to look into is the celebrity tournament. There’s the famous City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge, but if you can’t get into that you should search (read: google, bing, whatever) because there’s others.

I went to Craig Campbell’s Celebrity Cornhole Challenge. The event, the very first one ever, took place at Nashville’s Public Square Park to the benefit of T. J. Martell Colon Cancer Research. It is important to know that a lot of these events benefit worthy causes.

Taylor has two nominations for the 2013 CMT Awards, Video of the Year for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and Female Video of the Year for Begin Again. The show airs live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on June 5, 2013. Also, don’t forget she’s performing at the LP Field for CMA Fest on June 6.

Here’s a quick snapshot of Gloriana’s Mike Gossin as he says hello to the fans attending the event.
