I’m a dead man walking…
The Civil Wars have announced their new self-titled album for August 6 and it is now available for pre-order on iTunes. If you pre-order it now you can get the first single, The One That Got Away. There’s fire in that tune. Here’s the eerie part: The Civil Wars might be honoring their name far more after their collaboration was tinted by division. I might be reading too much into their first offering, but it sounds like it.
I would be sad to hear if this album doesn’t turn into more touring opportunities, but the fact that they’ve decided to work together despite their differences does make the final result extremely interesting. Their craft is still amazing.
For this single I can hear some background production work – albeit not in the level that most artists do. Never does the production obscure their voices. This is the Wars at their best and I love it.
Expect a couple of more Nashville Diaries soon. The RED Tour is coming to Canada! The Princess in Red plays the Rogers Center in Toronto, Ontario on June 14.
