And let the words fall out…
Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who’s going to be on pin and needles come this Sunday, we’re highlighting some of the other artists that we feel deserve recognition at the upcoming 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
Sara Bareilles is nominated for Album of the Year for The Blessed Unrest and for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Brave”. It’s not her first nomination. She was nominated back in 2009 for Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Love Song” and in 2011 for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “King of Anything”. She hasn’t won a Grammy yet. Sara is also one of those artists which curiously popped up everywhere for me last year. I wrote a review for her album The Blessed Unrest in July, learned she had worked on the soundtrack for Bounty Killer, a movie I reviewed on another blog a few days before, and in August 18, 2013 she was Taylor Swift’s secret guest on The RED Tour. Too many coincidences (and some amazing music) made me a fan. I strongly recommend her earlier albums as well.
Here’s Radio.com‘s Inside Album of the Year feature clip about Sara Bareilles’ nomination.
Here’s Sara performing “Brave” at the People’s Choice Awards 2014.
And by popular request (ok the guys at the Ninja Department are big fans of this one) here’s Taylor and Sara singing “Brave” on The RED Tour concert in Los Angeles on August 18, 2013.
Thanks to Radio.com, People’s Choice Awards and Shine On Media for posting!
Sara Bareilles’ The Blessed Unrest is up for Album of the Year against Taylor Swift’s RED, making this Sunday’s 56th Annual Grammy Awards one to watch. You can read my editorial on The Blessed Unrest’s Grammy nomination here. Both Sara Bareilles and the Princess in Red will be performing at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday, January 26.
Update! Former Agency conga player Danny Sadownick will be rejoining his compadres on stage at the Grammys on Sunday. He announced on Twitter he was happy to be playing with Taylor and The Agency again. Looks like this is might be only for one night, but I’m still happy to see him with the band again.
