Cause here we are again in the middle of the night…
Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who really should change the bulb of the refrigerator light, we’ve been highlighting some of the other artists that we feel deserve recognition at the upcoming 56th Annual Grammy Awards. Until now. This is the last one, who else did you expect? Taylor Swift, this is your road to the grammies this year.
It’s hard at this point to find someone more qualified for another nomination, and hopefully another win. The Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar has already been here as early as 2008, when she was nominated for Best New Artist, which she didn’t win. She wasn’t back until 2010 when she won Album of the Year and Best Country Album for Fearless and Best Female Country Performance and Best Country Song for “White Horse”. She came back in 2012 to win Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song for “Mean”. She would come back again to share Best Song Written for Visual Media with The Civil Wars for “Safe and Sound” in 2013.
Now she’s here in 2014 with four nominations: Album of the Year and Best Country Album for RED, Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Highway Don’t Care” along with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban, and Best Country Song for “Begin Again”. She’s got great chances, but I don’t want to call this one.
Here’s Radio.com‘s Inside Album of the Year feature for the Princess in Red:
Taylor Swift and The Agency will be performing at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday, January 26. Taylor might already have another song in mind, and “All Too Well” seems like the favorite for her Grammy performance. The final verdict as usual is up to the Sparkly Dressed.

The Agency gets a returning member this Sunday, as conga player Daniel Sadownick is attending rehearsals to play with the band. Chances it’s just a one night only deal, but it’s still nice to see Danny with The Agency again.
The Princess in Red seems to have the odds in her favor, but at the same time that also can work against her as she’s already won before. It’s a mixed bag. It’s hard to deny the star power of the Enchantress with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, so the odds are good for a win. “Begin Again” is a tough sell for Best Country Song as the other nominations are more widely known, which makes this win unlikely to happen. Country Album may be too much of a hard fit for the multi-genre experiment that is RED, specially with traditional Country voters.
On the other hand, the big award of the night, Album of the Year, is more than a fitting label for the multi-platinum bestseller RED but will she get it? Taylor has the odds in her favor, but Sara Bareilles’ The Blessed Unrest is such an amazing work that I can’t ignore it. Sara is the underdog in this competition, the unexpected nomination. I’ll be happy with Taylor winning, but it would be amazing if Sara were to get it. I’m torn between the two, but Sara has never won a Grammy before. Unfortunately we won’t have to wait long. The Grammies are tomorrow.
