Tour Talk: Bangkok concert cancelled

Sad news today, Taylor Nation.

I’m going to go with the official statement from TaylorSwift.com:

Due to recent events in Thailand, Taylor Swift’s concert in Bangkok scheduled for Monday June 9, 2014 has been cancelled. This has been a difficult decision for all parties. Taylor, AEG, BEC Tero and 13 Management all express regret and sincere apologies to the fans in Thailand.

Ticket holders are able to refund their tickets for this special event at all ThaiTicketMajor branches during normal business hours from May 29th, 2014 at 10.00 hrs. until June 30th, 2014. For further information, please contact Thaiticketmajor call center at 02 262 3838.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Update! New concert added for June 9th in Singapore with 1,000 seats reserved for Thai fans! More details here.

Thailand’s political climate does not make a Taylor Swift concert a priority at the moment. After a military coup took over government, public demonstrations on the streets protesting the regime have been severely suppressed and personal liberties are being restricted. Our thoughts and our prayers go out to the people of Thailand. You can read more at CBC.ca.

There’s one in a every group, Taylor Nation.

And for The Agency, it was the very sweet social butterfly miss Elizabeth Huett. Happy Birthday, Liz! She’s gone to pursue her own projects nowadays, but most of us will always remember the videos of Taylor’s and Caitlin’s former partner in crime. Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who is not a Liz stalker I swear, we’re counting our stars. I’ve been lucky enough to meet her a couple of times for both the Fearless and Speak Now tours.

Liz’s background vocals are also featured on Taylor Swift’s Speak Now album. Liz can be heard on the songs: “Speak Now”, “Mean”, and “Superman” (found on the Target Bonus CD). She is also present on “Red” on the background vocals of “The Moment I Knew”.

If you want to hear what her music sounds like, you should really visit her Soundcloud page. Here are few examples for you to listen:

T-Swizzle is up for Video of the Year for “Red”, Female Video of the Year for “Red” and featured in Collaborative Video of the Year for Tim McGraw’s “Highway Don’t Care” for the 2014 CMT Music Awards. You can vote here.
