I know what we’re watching this Sunday night, Taylor Nation.
The good news is that Taylor Swift’s performance of “Blank Space” actually kicks off the 2014 American Music Awards. The other good news is that she’s actually winning an award. Because, let’s be honest, if you invite Taylor Swift over to perform and not give her an award it’s kind of your loss more than it is hers. Now, of course a current nomination would be great but 1989 is not elegible yet. Then again, there’s the Dick Clark Award for Excellence. The award is “given to an artist who achieves a groundbreaking feat or creates a landmark work. It is to be bestowed upon someone whose spirit and excellence capture the visionary passion that Dick Clark himself incorporated into everything he did.”
You can read the original story at the American Music Awards. The ceremony airs on Sunday, November 23 at 8pm Eastern / 7pm Central. Be early, Taylor will open the show.
Update! Taylor Swift will also appear on Robin Roberts’ Thank You, America! special airing on November 27. You can read the story on UPI. Shoutout to @2Amanda13 for the heads up 🙂
Taylor will be at KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball in Los Angeles, California on December 5, Capital FM’s Jingle Ball in London, UK on December 7 and z100’s Jingle Ball 2014 in New York City, New York on December 12. The Sparkly Dressed has been nominated for three People Choice Awards: Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Pop Artist and Favorite Song for “Shake It Off”. The show airs on January 7. You can vote here.
