Welcome to the year of 1989, Taylor Nation.

Here at the Swift Agency’s mobile command (ok, my laptop), just a guy who’s still in an extended holiday break, we’re always a bit wary of fan-voted awards.

The Blonde With The Sparkly 1989 Microphone is nominated for the People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Female ArtistFavorite Pop Artist and Favorite Song for “Shake It Off”. The show airs live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California tonight, January 7, from 9pm to 11pm Eastern time on CBS. The show will be delayed for Pacific time.

The Enchantress’ chances are fair. Taylor’s not in the last attendees list updated on January 5. A performance from Lightning-On-Her Feet from her appearance on Letterman did air on CBS’ Thanksgiving Day Parade Special. It could go either way, but I think it would benefit the PCAs more to give her an award than for her to receive one. If Taylor wins tonight, the PCAs will be the first award to recognize the 1989 Era. If they don’t, they’ve missed the boat. Taylor’s a winner already awards or not.
