It was live yesterday from New York, Taylor Nation.
The Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar got invited to the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special. She even had a chance to participate in a group skit called The Californians as cousin Allison. The long sketch has a bit of a thin premise. Basically it’s a soap opera where everyone mimics a Californian accent (overdone on purpose). With originals Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Taran Killam, Kenan Thompson and Vanessa Bayer, the joke starts to drag on so it depends mostly on star power. Larraine Newman, Bradley Cooper and Kerri Washington also participated before Taylor Swift appeared. I found it a bit long to be honest, but Taylor made the best of her appearance. The closer belonged to the always funny Betty White who ended the sketch with a smooch on Bradley Cooper’s lips.
After the show, the Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar actually donned a guitar to jam along with Paul McCartney, Jimmy Fallon and other guest stars. Besides a rousing rendition of the The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There”, Lightning-On-Her-Feet also got the chance to play her hit “Shake It Off”. Ok, video please…
