Happy belated birthday, Amos! 🙂
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep sending shoutouts to Agency members on their birthdays. I sometimes feel that I might be intruding on their privacy. However, then again there’s those members I have had the good fortune of meeting over the years. Amos J. Heller was the first one and the one that I’ve talked to most often, so even though his birthday was back on March 18, I’m going to take the chance and wish him a belated happy birthday.
Amos is originally from Charlottesville, Virginia. “I’d see a tour bus roll through town, and I would want to be on it,” he told Premier Guitar back in June, 2014. “The problem was that they were always just passing through town and never leaving from there.” He would get his chance after moving to Nashville. Soon he would jump from the van to the tour bus, touring with Rhett Atkins and later on with Josh Gracin.
It was Al Wilson, the original first member of The Agency (yes, Al was the first one – I’ve seen that question asked on large venue screens and people always get it wrong) that pulled Amos into the team.
He’s also shared what music he listens to on his iPod. His tastes are very ecclectic: Meshuggah, Skrillex, Tedeschi Trucks Band, D’Angelo, King’s X. You can read more about his career and even what equipment he uses on Premier Guitar.
More recently, he’s been collaborating with fellow former Agency member Elizabeth Huett. Is this a track from Liz’ upcoming album? Or was it just jamming for the fun of it?
Of course, Amos always has his own page here on Agency Profile: Amos Heller.
