News Update: Taylor gives 1989 World Tour hints to Access Hollywood, ET and Extra

T minus 5 days to the 1989 World Tour, Taylor Nation.

Here’s a thought. Try to think like Taylor for a moment. Now, envision her best tour ideas and flip every concept to something else. How crazy will it be? Well, we don’t know what we don’t know. The Sparkly Dressed has already said she doesn’t want the same thing happening over and over, so a highly choreographed number will lead into an acoustic, that will lead to a performance with her and the band, then her alone and then the giraffes come out. Ok, forget the giraffes. Everybody is doing that these days. So, here’s the Blonde With The Sparkly 1989 Microphone speaking about her tour.

First up, Extra TV in small but well-packed convo about the tour.

Then, it’s Entertainment Tonight with questions about Kanye. No, nothing has been set on motion yet. There is no project. Just ideas.

Then there’s Access Hollywood with a much longer, and in-depth interview. Her wardrobe is less costume-y and more chic? Interesting.

Taylor: “I’m known for acting weird in public.” Finally, something I can say I have in common with the Queen of Sparks.

Beyond The Agency: Happy Birthday, Grant Mickelson!

T minus 6 days to the 1989 World Tour, Taylor Nation.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who’s good at cooking when he has leftovers, we’re always glad to bring the spotlight to former Agency band member Grant Mickelson. Only that we’re not quite ready to do that yet. Oops. Mine is a bit of a one man operation in case you haven’t figured it out. Anyway, it’s his birthday so we really wanted to congratulate him today. Hopefully I have some news to share in the near future 🙂

The Agency’s former guitar player was born in Sioux City, Iowa in April 30. He was very active in the local music scene. His passion for the guitar took him to Texas where he majored in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas. In 2004, he moved to Nashville, where he studied music at Belmont University and began making contacts in the music industry.

In addition to Taylor Swift, Grant has toured with other well-known country performers such as Sara Evans and Carolyn Dawn Johnson and has played lead guitar for Lady Antebellum as well as Damon Smith.

Currently he gives out lessons via Skype. You can reach him through twitter. He has an email he mails publicly available, but I don’t want to post it right out. You can find it on Twitter @GrantMickelson.

You can find more about Grant on his own Agency Profile: Grant Mickelson.

T minus 6 days to the 1989 World Tour, Taylor Nation.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy sticking to the written word because writing is kind of my thing, we’re counting down the days until the start of the 1989 World Tour, but there will be a while until I get my own concert. July 7. Montreal. Really hyped to see the Queen of Sparks in my town again.

Taylor Swift introduced her new dance crew for the 1989 World Tour on Instagram: @toshi_ateamlv, @giuseppegiofre, @austinspacy, @cd_henderson, @owensc18, @markvillaver, @jakekodish, @maho_udo, @staronstage, @mase_cut, @remibakkar and @nolanpdilla. You probably remember Mark and Mase from the Red Tour.

The Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar received a Radio Disney Music Award for Best Song To Dance To for “Shake It Off”. I’ve known that for a while, but I was waiting for video because reasons. Here we go 🙂

The Blonde With The Sparkly 1989 Microphone was also interviewed by Jason Kennedy from E! to reveal that she and Kanye have actually yet to step into an studio. Shocker. I’m kidding, we all know Mr. West’s propensity to jump ahead. According to Taylor, he’s got great ideas.

Glamour on Taylor, by Taylor: The Lightning-On-Her-Feet takes over

T minus 11 days to the 1989 World Tour, Taylor Nation.

Just a swift note here: Ticketmaster has released a limited amount of tickets for the 1989 World Tour concerts at Metlife Stadium. You might want to check that out.

Because we needed another reason to love her, the Queen of Sparks not only appears in June’s edition of Glamour UK magazine but also gets to write her own stuff. She also does the cover and gets interviewed because you can’t have Taylor in your magazine and not do that. It would be like inviting her to your award show and not pointing the camera at her when she’s dancing.

We’ll get to the pictures, but first here’s one of my favorite quotes about Taylor making nice look cool:

“Well, I just don’t place much priority on looking cool,” she tells Glamour UK‘s Jo Elvin. “And I think at 25, I’m finally OK with feeling that. I’ve said this before. I think there’s this priority on having this persona of being edgy or cool or bored. And those things are all sexy. All those things are chic, when you seem not to care about anything other than yourself. And I just don’t buy into it. I’m really excited by lots of things. I think enthusiasm is the best protection. It can protect you from anything. And I don’t feel bored by any of this, so I don’t strive to look bored by any of this.”

Ok, ok picture time 🙂

Another quote to consider is her decision to make a pop album, which her label was not too keen about doing.

“It would have been all on me if we hadn’t sold half of what they wanted and I knew that,” she says. “But I knew that you can’t let fans get comfortable with what you make. We’re supposed to entertain people. Repeating one thing over and over again is not entertaining.”

You can read more on the article preview at Glamour UK and the entire thing when it hits the stands on April 30. Look for her articles My rules for life, The women who made me and Where I hang out.

News Update: TIME’s 100 most influential people and Taylor gets a Shorty!

(Photo: Martin Schoeller for TIME)

You shorties never thought I dreamed about rapping hardcore, Taylor Nation.

The Queen of Sparks is included on TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People and gets an mini-essay written for her by one of her own idols, Mariska Hargitay, who plays Olivia Benson. No, the other Olivia Benson in Law & Order: SVU. One of the most beautiful things I can quote is this statement: “Along with her staggering list of accomplishments, perhaps the most exciting thing about Taylor is that she’s just getting started with what she plans to mine from her fierce, curious, boundlessly talented and beautiful heart.”

It also didn’t hurt Taylor named her cat after her.

The Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar That Will Eventually Go To The Country Music Hall of Fame But Not Yet has won a Shorty Award for best Singer. Her reaction also wins her an award for Most Adorable Person That Is Not A Cat.
