She’s emotionally attached to the choker, Taylor Nation.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who thinks a pair of scissors would make that choker come off, we’re glad that the Taylor Swift Award went to the Sparkly Dressed. Otherwise, it would’ve been awkward. I’m also happy that it doesn’t look like some stylized concept of a Taylor’s surprise face.

The 64th annual BMI Pop Awards took place last night (May 10, 2016) at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. The Enchantress was in attendance along with her family.

The Blonde With The Sparkly 1989 Microphone also had four of the year’s most-performed songs. “Bad Blood,” “Blank Space,” “Style” and “Wildest Dreams” are all featured on the artist’s Billboard 200 No. 1 album 1989. That won her BMI’s Pop Songwriter of the Year. No, the evening was not televised. That’s a pity. I keep trying to get a network to support my idea of a Taylor TV channel (“All Taylor, all the time”) but nobody’s getting back to me yet. Darn 😦

On other news, Billboard announced Taylor Swift as the top earning musician of 2015 with $73.5 million. This was not due to record sales but to her hugely successful 1989 World Tour which brought her $61.7 million in touring revenue. Also helping her numbers was Ryan Adams’ reinterpretation of 1989 which made her top earner of publishing royalties.

Coming up next in the Calendar:

  • May 22: The Billboard Music Awards are broadcast LIVE at 8pm ET on ABC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Taylor Swift is nominated for eight awards.
