Behind the Blog: Eight years and still writing…

And so it goes, Taylor Nation.

Taylor Swift’s critically acclaimed sixth album reputation was released on November 10. Starting tomorrow (December 1st), it will be available on all streaming services.

Something else happened on November 10th, but back in 2009. That’s the first day I started writing about Taylor Swift and The Agency.  Back then it was the Fearless Era and Taylor Swift had hosted & been the musical guest on SNL for the first time.If you ever want to read how bad was my writing when I first started, you can follow this link here.

Quick trivia: Taylor has appeared in SNL three times to date. She was a musical guest first back in January 10, 2009 with host Neil Patrick Harris (she also participated in her first sketch: She played Annie from the musical of the same name). Her second appearance was she playing host and musical guest in November 7, 2009 (this is her most famous one). The last time was this year in November 11, 2017 as a musical guest.

I used to update that first post when the members of the band changed, but I stopped doing that after Speak Now since I created the Profiles page.

After eight years of writing this blog, I’m still surprised by Taylor Swift. I’m still also annoyed at how wrong some people write about her, which is my motivation to keep writing. Someone has to tell the truth. I’m going to stop here before I start ranting (or perhaps I should say, continue ranting).

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who could use have happy news, we’re thrilled to announce Taylor Swift will have two reasons to go to the Grammys on 2018. She’s got a nomination for Best Country Song for “Better Man” sung by Little Big Town and Best Song Written for Visual Media with Zayn for “I Don’t Want To Live Forever”.

Before you say but what about reputation? which you probably said already before clicking this page, Taylor’s acclaimed sixth studio album will not be eligible until next year (which means the Grammy Awards of 2019!). Fortunately we Swifties are patient, right? Riiiiight. Okey put the pitchforks down, I was kidding…

On the other hand, the result of boosting has been finally revealed. The way it works is the following. The better your boost, the earliest you get your pre-sale date. So, here’s the four possible dates:

Date Ticket Selection
Tue 12/5 The Best – Access to the greatest variety in the venue
Wed 12/6 Excellent – All price levels likely to have seats available
Thu 12/7 Good/Fair – Varied selection throughout most of the venue; may only have single seats in high-demand sections
Fri 12/8 Limited – Some selection in the upper and middle bowl; high-demand areas such as the floor may be sold out

We’ve compiled all the dates in next year’s Calendar if you want to see them, but the official calendar dates are in TaylorSwift.com.

Weekly News Update: November 26, 2017

Don’t blame me, Taylor Nation.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who thinks your dancing might improve if you untie your hands first, we’re looking at our finances and wonder how exactly we ever managed to get to those concerts before. We’ll remain hopeful for a concert in town.

  • reputation already sold a confirmed 1,216 million albums on the first week, a number that rises if you add the track equivalent albums (TEAs) for a total of 1,238 million. That makes reputation Taylor’s second best-selling debut. 1989 sold 1,287 million units the first opening week.
  • reputation now adds 256,000 albums for a second week maintaining the top spot on the US charts.
  • November 28 is the closing date to create your Taylor Swift Tix account. After that, you’re no longer eligible for the pre-sales of the Stadium Tour. I don’t know if this applies to additional legs, or even if additional legs will even happen. Official information only at Taylorswift.com.
  • I might have to make a dreadful rumor control post soon since some people have come up with all sort of unfounded ideas about Taylor’s political leniencies. You can talk about conspiracy theories run amuck, but the political climate is insane right now.

For the fans in the US and Canada (that’s Toronto only for some reason…), you should make an account on Taylor Swift Tix if you haven’t already. You have until November 28. If you do, your pre-sale dates are scheduled between December 5 and December 8.

Due to the impending cataclysm of ticket-buying activity I’ve decided to open up the Calendar for 2018 early to start accumulating dates. However, this time I have no direct URLs, so you will have to go through TaylorSwift.com or Ticketmaster to obtain tickets.

Weekly News Update: November 19, 2017

Is it cool that I said all that, Taylor Nation?

Here at the Swift Agency, just another guy who lives in the North Pole Canada, we’re still reeling from the begging of the Rep Era. So, what did we get this week?

  • Update! Taylor’s sixth studio album, reputation (which all promos keep in lowercase) sold 1.216 million copies in the first week! Debuting at the top stop of the Billboard 200, it’s the best selling album of 2017 according to Billboard.
  • The album came out on November 10, 2017 meaning it’s not going to be eligible for the award season just starting right now. Perhaps some nominations might befall the first singles of the album, but we’ll have to wait a year for the album to be eligible.
  • The tour has been announced. It’s officially called Taylor Swift’s reputation Stadium Tour. I’ve already ranted about the possibility this might be a stadium-only tour.
  • If you are interested in pre-sales, you should make an account on Taylor Swift Tix if you haven’t already. You have until November 28. If you do, your pre-sale dates are scheduled between December 5 and December 8. Remember all this information is subject to change, so keep checking TaylorSwift.com and Ticketmaster.
  • The American Music Awards are happening right now. Taylor didn’t have any nominations, but she made a brief video appearance as part of a salute to Diana Ross.
  • Our favorite Partner in Crime, the inimitable Liz Huett, has a released a new music video for h8u. I promise you’ll love it.

Coming up in the Calendar:

  • November 28: The account creation for Taylor Swift Tix closes at 12pm Eastern Time.
