Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who still thinks of himself as Taylorgeek, we’re going to feel a little emotional all day as it’s opening night in Glendale, Arizona. Hope you’re all ready for it. No, you are not but don’t worry. T-Swizzle will be ready for you.
Billboard just made a rough guide to all of Taylor’s tours to date and I have to applaud them for this article since it gives us a summary that we can look up. However, just in case that post ever disappear I wanted to get the facts here as well. I’m going to add some commentary of my own here too. The links will take you to my actual page for each tour that includes the experience posts and some pictures from those days (ah, memories).
The Fearless Tour ran from April 23, 2009 to July 10, 2010. It had 118 shows and made a total box office revenue of $66.5 million. The tour hit several venues in United States, Canada, England, Australia, Japan and the Bahamas. This was Taylor’s first tour as a headliner and it had fairytale setting. I attended my first show in May 2010 in Toronto and I donned the suit, chucks and glasses for the first time as well. This is also the first time I met Amos Heller, Paul Sidoti and the lovely and amazing Elizabeth Huett. I had started the blog on November 2009.
The Speak Now World Tour ran from February 9, 2011 to March 18, 2012. It had 110 shows and made a box office revenue of $123.7 million. It went to the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Philippines, Hong Kong, Belgium, Norway, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, France, Spain, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Belgium. This tour had the most number of shows and countries in it, specially Europe and Asia. It had a more of a musical theatre feel to it, although still fantastic. I had the rare privilege to meet The Agency at the airport in Montreal. It also was the first time ever Taylor came to my city and the first time I ever flew to Nashville to see her as well. I also saw the finale in New York.
The Red Tour (yeah, sorry I used to capitalize RED – that was never official) ran from March 13, 2013 to June 12, 2014. It had 86 shows and made a box office revenue of $150.2 million. It covered the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom, Germany, China, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia. This time everything has a bit of a circus atmosphere. This tour was a little bittersweet for me. Elizabeth Huett is no longer part of the Agency. We also get who I think is Taylor’s best opening act so far, the talented Ed Sheeran. I finally get to meet Taylor at Club Red on the closing concert in Nashville.
The 1989 World Tour started on May 5, 2015 and ended December 12, 2015. It had 85 shows and a box office revenue of $250.7 million. It traveled to Japan, United States, Germany, Netherlands, Scotland, England, Ireland, Canada, Singapore, China and Australia. This tour has the more professional and polished feel to it. This is her shortest tour to date. The Agency loses Caitlin Evanson and Grant Mickelson. It also gains a horn section temporarily. Taylor also visits Montreal again.
The rep Stadium Tour will begin today, May 8, 2018 with 51 shows announced so far as late as November 9, 2018. She’s scheduled to visit the United States, England, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand so far. The theme is unknown but we already know it’s only for large venues. That means a lot less cities. Unfortunately, I have a lot of things going on this year so chances of me attending this one are very slim. I will still cover this one in this blog of course.

At three days to this fandom’s melting point, the Enchantress shared a story that tells you the level of detail this tour has in store: the confetti is newspaper-shaped. She then proceeds to do an adorkable demonstration of how this works… With literally just one piece of confetti. Yeap.
At two days, the Blonde With The Sparkly… Oh boy, this time it will be a full range of microphones as she shows off seven different models. You almost want to collect them. Ok, if she was offering each of these and the ones from the previous tours as small collectibles I’d grab the whole set. Just something for the merch team to consider.
And now, a cactus. Err… Ok, I guess. Yes, I know I am doing the running commentary but I’m a loss here. What do you want me to say about a cactus? Tay’s stumped me with that one. Definitely screams Arizona and heat. I live in Canada. I’m melting just looking at this photo.
Hope everyone’s got their costumes ready for tonight! More important than that, make sure you have downloaded your tickets since it’s a mobile ticket only night. The Phoenix Stadium has a clear bag policy meaning one bag made of clear plastic, vinyl or PVC no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag like a Ziploc. Lots of things to remember, but it’s all worth it. They literally should sell the bags outside.
