Showcase: The music of Billie Eilish

Let’s shine the spotlight on other artists too.

The problem with comfort zones is that you never know what else is out there. After reading several music articles looking for fresh new recommendations I heard about Billie Eilish. It’s alternative music with an urban touch, both minimalistic in approach but slick in production. Listening to her debut EP, Don’t Smile At Me was not enough. I ended up also getting her first studio album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? I don’t regret it one bit. I haven’t been able to stop listening to it.

Here’s her first breakout song, “Ocean Eyes”.

Then from her EP, came a follow-up song you’ve probably heard.

A popular single, “Bury A Friend”.

And her hit single from the new album, “Bad Guy”.

I know alternative might not be a genre that I’ve highlighted often. Sometimes it’s just the craft is not only good but extremely fresh to listen and the genre becomes almost immaterial. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely fun to listen on my daily commute. Take a listen and let me know.
