Weekly News Update: Taylor at the 2020 Golden Globes

No, we can’t leave the Christmas lights up. The power bill just went up, fandomites.

The Blonde With The Guitar Who Will Always Be Sparkly To Me started the year showing up at the 2020 Golden Globes because she loves a good party and the song “Beautiful Ghost” that she co-wrote with Andrew Lloyd Webber was nominated for Best Song in a Motion Picture. She was also a presenter, taking the chance to make nice with Amy Poehler. The award went to Elton John and Bernie Taupin which are, like I said on Twitter, top shelf people to lose to. Anyways, the night was still a win as fans are now obsessing over pictures of Taylor with her date, a British actor named Joe Alwyn.

You might wonder why I am choosing Taylor and Amy for the cover pic instead. Well, it’s because I have been guilty of jumping into the bandwagon: I blogged about who Taylor is dating back in 2010 (omg that was ten years ago). I regret having done that and stopped because it felt that I was contributing into the photo-stalking frenzy of guerrilla-style paparazzi. Since then, I’ve kept away from that rumour mill. That picture was taken at a public event, so it’s fair but I am not going to start posting pictures of them as they get off cars and whatnot. I have respect for photo journalists and the paps that know where the boundaries are, but some go too far.

As a nice addition, the Sparkly Dressed also got to bury the hatchet with Amy Poehler. Back in 2013 (sheesh time flies by) Tina Fey and Amy made a joke about T’s dating and the songstress replied back with a harsh quote from Madeline Albright, “there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women”. It was considered a feud, but nothing further came from it. Seven years passed and we get Taylor and Amy joking along and presenting an award.
