Weekly News Update: Billboard, VMAs 2020 and more

She gave plenty of signs, fellow Swifties.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy that uses a mask and keeps his distance because of health reasons and not political ones, we’re happy to report (a bit late but still relevant) that Folklore debuted at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with all 16 songs on the standard edition of the album actually charting as well back in August 8th. It also debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 as well. As a matter of fact it remains #1 at the Billboard 200 chart for a third week. The album has become the fastest album of 2020 to hit the one million mark.

The Sparkly Dressed has five nominations for the MTV VMA 2020. Yes, the Video Music Awards. I feel she’s outgrown these awards more than any other, but that being said, vote for her. We’re still Team Swift here.

  • Video of the Year for “The Man”
  • Video for Good for “The Man”
  • Best Director for “The Man”
  • Best Pop Album for Lover
  • Best Art Direction for Lover

I know what you’re thinking… Lover? Where are the nominations for Folklore? Well, see I’m not the only one who’s late. No, just kidding. The nominations for the VMAs don’t include the recent hit album. Don’t get me wrong, I do love Lover but 2019 feels like it happened a decade ago. That’s pandemic standard time for you.

On other news, the Blonde With The Guitar That Will Sparkle Again (technically this applies to both Blonde and Guitar) is getting strongly political regardless what people say about it. And yes, it’s about certain American president that will go unnamed. Yes, I’m putting him into the same category than the rapper whose name I can’t remember (holy crap I just remember they’re friendly with each other… Cringe).

I’m not getting into it. Miss Americana however, can fully express her opinion on her own platform to whoever is listening. That is her right and I applaud her for fully using it.

Hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy and safe.
