Weekly News Update: Taylor is Free, AMAs, platinum folklore & Only The Young political ad

No more stolen lullabies, fellow fandomites.

Yes, it’s November. I’m not sure about the exact date, but this is the month where Taylor is finally allowed to re-record her classic albums. The Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar That Might Be A Bit Dusty is also nominated for four American Music Awards: Artist of the Year, Favorite Music Video for “Cardigan”, Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock and Favorite Album – Pop/Rock. The show airs on November 22.

Taylor has lend her song “Only The Young” to an ad targeted at young voters. I think that Taylor’s song is already one of protest without any images present. You can see the actual political campaign ad on Twitter.

Taylor Swift’s folklore has returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for an eighth non-consecutive week. The album became the first album to sell a million copies in the U.S. in 2020 and achieved gold and platinum status.

I know all Swifties in the U. S. have an election. I know that’s the most important thing in your minds right now. I hope all goes well.

Coming up in the Calendar!

  • November 15: E! People’s Choice Awards. Taylor is nominated for The Female Artist, The Album of 2020 for folklore and Soundtrack Song of 2020 for “Only the Young” from the Miss Americana documentary.
  • November 22: The American Music Awards. Taylor is nominated for Artist of the Year, Favorite Music Video for “Cardigan”, Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock and Favorite Album – Pop/Rock.
