Weekly News Update: Taylor at the 2022 AMAs

The jokes weren’t funny, Taylor Nation.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy that knows he’s about two weeks late and this is no longer breaking news, we considered naming this post Last Month News Update. Sorry, my work days are just letting me come up for air now. The Princess in Red had six nominations for the 2022 American Music Awards: Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Country Female Artist, Favorite Music Video for All Too Well: The Short Film, Favorite Pop Album and Favorite Country Album for Red (Taylor’s Version)

She won them all. Yes, we’re going to video. Don’t rush me, I’m going. Here we go.

It’s not a surprise she won. She remains incredibly active and relevant. Yes, it shouldn’t be fair for her to keep winning if she put lousy albums out, but that has happen exactly zero times. So, as much as I applaud new artists and I know new artists benefit from the spotlight, don’t expect the Enchantress not to put up some competition.

Let me stress something that I’ve been repeating for several years now. Taylor Swift no longer needs award shows, the award shows need her. An award show is a popularity contest used for commercial publicity that requires an audience. You watch to see your favorite artist perform or at least appear. Taylor has proven her talent several times, but she’s also a lesson in career longevity.
