- January 5: The song “Beautiful Ghosts” from the CATS movie soundtrack written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Taylor Swift is nominated for Best Original Song – Motion Picture at the 77th Golden Globes Awards. (Update: It lost to “I’m Gonna Love Me Again” from the ROCKETMAN movie soundtrack written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin).
- January 23: Taylor Swift: Miss Americana, directed by Lana Wilson, debuts at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Taylor Swift and Lana Wilson attend the premiere.
- January 26: The GRAMMY Awards. Taylor had three nominations: Song of the Year for “Lover,” Best Pop Solo Performance for “You Need To Calm Down,” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Lover.” (Update: Best Pop Vocal Album went to Billie Eilish’s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” Best Pop Solo Performance went to Lizzo for “Truth Hurts” and Song of the Year went to Billie Eilish for “Bad Guy”.)
- January 31: Watch Taylor Swift: Miss Americana on Netflix.

- February 12: Taylor Swift wins Best Solo Act in the World.
- February 27: “The Man” music video premieres.

- April 4: Taylor takes on DJ duties at SiriusXM.
- April 18: Taylor Swift performs at Global Citizen’s One World: Together At Home global broadcast.

- September 4: Taylor Swift’s Lover wins Pop Album of the Year for Lover at the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
- September 16: Taylor Swift performs her new single “Betty” at the ACM Awards 8/7c on CBS.

- October 14: The 2020 Billboard Music Awards. Taylor was nominated for six awards: Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album for Lover and Billboard Chart Achievement Award. She didn’t win any of her nominations.
November
- November 15: E! People’s Choice Awards. Taylor won Soundtrack Song of 2020 for “Only the Young” from the Miss Americana documentary.
- November 22: The American Music Awards. Taylor won Artist of the Year, Favorite Music Video for “Cardigan” and Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock.
December
- December 1: Taylor Swift will make an appearance at the 2020 Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards honoring the best of the LGTBQ+ community.
- December 11: Taylor Swift’s 9th studio album evermore is released.
