Tour Talk: It all starts tonight

It’s May 8th, Taylor Nation. Add exclamation marks time infinity here.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy that can understand the Sparkly Dressed may have a lot more to worry about that come up with a final fact, we’re happy for all the fans that will get to experience the rep tour for the first time tonight.

Here’s the last facts shared on Taylor’s instagram via @TSwiftLA:

At three days to this fandom’s melting point, the Enchantress shared a story that tells you the level of detail this tour has in store: the confetti is newspaper-shaped. She then proceeds to do an adorkable demonstration of how this works… With literally just one piece of confetti. Yeap.

At two days, the Blonde With The Sparkly… Oh boy, this time it will be a full range of microphones as she shows off seven different models. You almost want to collect them. Ok, if she was offering each of these and the ones from the previous tours as small collectibles I’d grab the whole set. Just something for the merch team to consider.

And now, a cactus. Err… Ok, I guess. Yes, I know I am doing the running commentary but I’m a loss here. What do you want me to say about a cactus? Tay’s stumped me with that one. Definitely screams Arizona and heat. I live in Canada. I’m melting just looking at this photo.

Hope everyone’s got their costumes ready for tonight! More important than that, make sure you have downloaded your tickets since it’s a mobile ticket only night. The Phoenix Stadium has a clear bag policy meaning one bag made of clear plastic, vinyl or PVC no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag like a Ziploc. Lots of things to remember, but it’s all worth it. They literally should sell the bags outside.

Tour Talk: A piano, merch, a rocket sled, costumes & bloopers

Three days to the rep tour, Taylor Nation.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who act like a grown up most of the time, we often have to prioritize other stuff over travel plans and concert tickets. Fortunately, there’s always other fans that share the experience with you.

There’s more facts as Taylor shares stories through instagram. I want to thank @TSwiftLA for their continuing coverage so we get to have a look. Here we go!

At eight days, Taylor showcased her lovely piano. As lovely as it looks, I’m sure it also folds into a suitcase for travel. The piano will be used to play two songs, one from reputation and one from before. I would guess “Enchanted” although my wish would be for “All Too Well”.

Seven days! And the fact is the new merch for the rep tour. I know we buy it, but we all know it’s a cash grab. I wouldn’t mind that hoodie though.

The rocket sled! At six days, Taylor discloses her secret mode of transportation as she slides underneath her three-ring stage. Looks fun but in practice it feels a bit scary. Hopefully she doesn’t run into traffic.

Down to five days we get a literal peek at the costumes. Yes, the Sparkly Dressed gets to retain her title as her costumes shine and sparkle. She loves her glittery stuff. Incidentally, don’t go nuts with actual glitter – the micro-small stuff can pose some health risks. Do your homework and make sure that whatever you use on your skin is safe.

And finally, at four days we get a peek at the blooper reel. She will have this playing in the background as the people are collecting their stuff and heading for the exit. This one is very welcomed as I remember the times leaving a concert… You’re kind of glad for the experience but sad that it’s over. A light hearted clip with a bunch of outtakes from their concert rehearsals would do wonders for the mood here. Oh yeah, I just reminded myself that I’m not going to be there… Yay for making hard choices when you’re an adult.

Three days. Wowzers.

Tour Talk: The rep tour facts so far

She’s ready for the rep tour, Taylor Nation. Are you?

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who honestly has another life and a job besides this one, we often rely on other updater accounts to get you the news. I can promise the commentary will always be original. I want to thank @TSwiftLA for their complete coverage of Tay’s instagram facts. Take it away Taylor!

Yes, Taylor will always have to include a variety of songs from her previous albums which means she must face an uphill battle every time she puts out a new tour. Her expanding music catalog includes so many hits she has to strike a delicate chord between her classics and highlighting the new album. You know she will play “Shake It Off” but the chances of hearing “All Too Well” are almost zero. On the other hand, is there still space for “Love Story” and “You Belong With Me” when Taylor’s most critically acclaimed album is 1989? I think her classic tracks will only be heard on the b-stage, but the most experimental tracks (think Speak Now) won’t get the live treatment again.

The stages are BIG. I have said this before, but they are also the reason behind this tour becoming a stadium-size-venue only thing. Taylor is going to have a lot of room to move and walk around. Although that means a lot people in medium good seats will occasionally get a great view of her performance, it also means that the definition of front row does get slightly deluded as you won’t always have her upfront. That will only be momentarily and you know she’ll have stuff for you to look at from every angle.

I don’t want to over hype the rep room, because I know people already obsess about it. This perk, which is not included with any ticket regardless of vip status and not guaranteed no matter how much noise you make or glitter your costume has, is not necessarily going to be part of your concert experience. I know people like to make signs, but the bigger the sign the more people will be annoyed at you when you obscure their view. Please try to be considerate to others.

I think the experience from higher seats will be enhanced with the stage floor also being a screen. It won’t necessarily make nosebleeds desirable, but it’s a thing and you know Tay always tries. The idea to enhance everyone’s concert experience also means the production costs go up, the requirements for the venue go up, insurance goes up and unavoidably the ticket prices go up specially if you are going for the regular sale. Some people did take advantage of the boosts to nab a good ticket early and I wish that money was not involved in the equation, but we’re all living in the real world.

And finally, at nine days (eight today) they took a break and hit the pool. Well deserved for all parties involved. Looks like everyone’s excited. Except Meredith. Meredith could use a little silence and a break from all the noise y’all are making. Just kidding. Looks like a great start and I hope most of you make it. Enjoy your week as we’re looking forward to eight more tour facts!

Tour Talk: Taylor gives us a peek at the rep room!

10 days until the rep Tour, Taylor Nation.

Spoilers? Taylor decided to give us a little tour of that backstage area that you’ve probably heard about. She put this out on her Instagram story, so I think it’s fair game.

It was the T-party on both the Fearless and Speak Now tours, Club Red during The Red Tour, Loft 89 during The 1989 World Tour and for the rep Stadium Tour it will be known as the rep room.

Okey, now that looks like some serious Thulsa Doom temple / Cobra green room kinda of place with those snake lamps! Give yourself 10 geek points if you get the Thulsa Doom reference.

And now, the throne…

This is definitely going to be a photo op for everyone, specially when they bring in the live snakes. Just kidding, there won’t be any snakes. I think. Not sure. Tay has the final say on that one.

And now for something completely different, a Burton-to-this-Taylor reference…

Of course the real appeal of this room is that you’ll get to meet the Blonde With The Sparkly Snake Microphone. So I can imagine people who started to make signs might want to do a little editing.

Taylor always has people going around picking up the craziest fans during the show, but the criteria is not set in stone. You basically have to stand out in the crowd. From what I’ve seen in past tours, they won’t always go for the loudest fan. I know most people don’t want to hear this, but don’t focus on getting into the rep room. Focus on enjoying the concert and have a good time.

Tour Talk: Taylor counts down the 13 days till the reputation Stadium Tour

Today it’s 12 days until the rep Tour, Taylor Nation.

And you know that the Blonde With The Sparkly Snake Mike was going to make something of it, as she has herself stated. You have to look up Taylor Swift’s instagram stories to have a look (that link only works once). In the meantime she’s posting pictures of her rep tour prep each day as well.

12 days til Reputation Stadium Tour!!!

A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) on

I want you to know that if you can’t make it to a tour concert, you are not any less of a fan than anybody else. As much as it’s fun to be there, I know the amount of effort, time and yes, money, that it takes – and I know it’s a lot more if you live far away from where the tour goes. Sometimes life does get in the way, and you just hope there will enough pictures, clips and perhaps one or two articles 😉 that you can read about and follow from a distance. I will do my part to get you those 🙂
