The rep tour Manchester: It is such an honour to play for you tonight

Capture it, remember it, Taylor Nation.

The Blonde With The Sparkly Snake Microphone played the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on June 8 and 9. Along for the ride, were her already popular opening acts Charli XCX and Camila Cabello.

The Enchantress had something to say to the crowd. Just over a year ago, Manchester was the setting for a terror attack, a bombing that took the lives of 22 people just after an Ariana Grande concert on May 22nd, 2017. Taylor wanted to make sure they knew she remembered.

“What happened a year ago was an attempt to steal that innocent and excitement of a pop concert and since then you’ve shown such strength,” she told the crowd. “You’ve shown you have such incredible resilience to keep dancing and to keep the joy and keep the excitement. I just want to say, Manchester, it is such an honour to play for you tonight.”

Taylor’s surprise songs on the B-stage were acoustic versions of “I Knew You Were Trouble” on Friday, June 8 and “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” on Saturday, June 9th. You can find a growing compilation of her surprise songs on Billboard.

Your winner, Taylor Nation!

Here at the Swift Agency, just another guy who blogs about the Sparkly Dressed, we’d like to congratulate the Queen of Sparks on another deserving win. She took home another moonman for Best Female Video for the video I Knew You Were Trouble. She was sitting with her video co-star Reeve Carney. Her pal Selena Gomez was sitting on the other seat, which made the evening a bit more watchable with both their dancing antics.

T-Swizzle also got to to present the Best Male Video to Bruno Mars.

The show took place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Other notable highlights were Justin Timberlake’s performance and acceptance of the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award and Katy Perry singing Roar in front of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Update: Sorry, most of the clips have been brought down.

I Knew You Were Trouble: The official video

Hello Taylor Nation,

Here at the Swift Agency, one guy who actually saw the music video for I Knew You Were Trouble, we’ve been waiting to finally comment on it since it premiered on December 13, on MTV. Simply put, I want to embed a video we all can watch. Now I can – the official video is up on YouTube!

I particularly love the intro. There’s nothing that someone in a bad relationship doesn’t already know, but it’s worth highlighting how accurate the Enchantress’ portrayal of a break up after a bad relationship really is. You don’t really break up, you’re more like left behind in the dust.

I think… I think when it’s all over it just comes back in flashes, you know? It’s like a kaleidoscope of memories. It just all comes back… but he never does.

I think part of me knew the second I saw him that this would happen.

It’s not really anything he said, or anything he did. It was the feeling that came along with it. And the crazy thing is I don’t know if I’m ever going to feel that way again. I don’t know if I should.

I knew his world moved too fast and burned too bright. But I just thought, how can the devil be pulling you towards someone who looks so much like an angel when he smiles at you?” Maybe he knew that when he saw me.

I guess I just lost my balance.

I think the worst part of it all wasn’t losing him, it was losing me.

– Taylor Swift, prologue to I Knew You Were Trouble

There’s quite a bit to digest in this video. It’s probably the Princess in Red’s most image heavy production. It’s a complete departure from anything she’s ever done. There’s no contemplation except for the aftermath, a picture of devastation that symbolizes her own mental state.

The plot is a story ages old. Girl falls for bad boy. Hard. Bad boy takes her along for a joyride. Girl changes to what she thinks bad boy wants, but after the thrill and the adventure is gone he leaves her anyway. Girl learns an important lesson at the cost of losing herself.

I Knew You Were Trouble was directed by Anthony Mandler and it stars Taylor Swift and Reeve Carney.

I don’t know if you know who you are until you lose who you are.

  2. Traveling to five continents this year.
  3. Her experiences with the Grammys this year, including the performance, her two wins and hosting the nominations concert
  4. Getting to spend the release week of her new album RED with her fans and the fact that they bought so many copies.
  5. Getting to perform the new music from her album RED on the VMA EMA
