Tay in the UK! ELLE Style Awards’ Woman of the Year

She’s never out of style, Taylor Nation.

How exactly do you expect to name your show the Style Awards and not expect the Red-Classic-Lip-Thing-That-You-Like (too long for a new nickname? Yeah, I think so too but I had to try!) to show up? Of course someone had to end up giving her an award because as I have explained ad nauseam the Enchantress has reached a status where it’s far more beneficial for an award show to recognize her than it is for her to get another accolade.

The utmost cool was that it was Sam Smith returning the favor and handing over the Woman of the Year trophy at ELLE’s Style Awards 2015. Check out the picture! That’s one very expressive raised eyebrow. The Blonde With The Sparkly 1989 Microphone did not end her night there but also attended The World’s First Fund Fair, a fundraising event for the Naked Heart Foundation.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who can’t seem to get his in’s and on’s right, we want to apologize to our e-mail subscribers who got that grammatical error in the previous post. I managed to correct it the moment it hit me, but for the readers who get my posts via email (to whom I am eternally grateful for letting me spam their inbox) that typo went out unabated. I know I’m doing a faux pas because you’re never supposed to apologize for your posts, but I don’t want to provoke the grammar police. 🙂

On other news, You Are In Love is now out on iTunes! The additional track from the deluxe edition was co-written with Jack Antonoff and was inspired by his relationship with Lena Dunham.

The Blonde With The Sparkly 1989 Microphone will be performing “Blank Space” on the BRIT Awards 2015 on February 25. She is nominated for International Female Solo Artist.

The 57th GRAMMY Awards: Sam Smith’s night. Taylor and Kanye finally shake it off.

A mixed night of sorts, Taylor Nation.

First of all, Taylor did not win her nominations. Record of the Year and Song of the Year went to Sam Smith for “Stay With Me”, who sweeped the awards. Best Solo Pop Performance went to Pharrell. The surprise win of the night was Beck who won Album of the Year for Morning Phase. There was a strong message to end violence against women that started with President Barack Obama, then was emphatized by Brooke Axtell a survivor of domestic violence with a very powerful speech and ended with a symbolic performance by Katy Perry. Not to be outdone were great performances by Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Madonna, Pharrell, Beyonce and a weird but amazing performance with Sia with Kristin Wiig and Maddie Ziegler doing the interpretative dance.

Yes, it’s true. The Grammy didn’t go to “Shake It Off”. I really wanted it to win, or actually for Taylor to win something, but I will have to say that I do feel the rest of the album has more power behind it. 1989 is eligible for next year’s 58th GRAMMY Awards. Taylor did make two appearances, one giving Sam Smith his first award of the night as Best New Artist and a second one announcing his performance on stage alongside Mary J. Blige which was one of the best.

And finally, a minor but significant event as the Forever and Always Fearless One buries the hatchet with… wait for it… disabling locks… calling off the ninjas… opening double-barrelled safety vault locks… Kanye West. The Rapper Whose Name I Used To Forget is now unbanned (believe it or not you couldn’t get a comment with the words “Kanye” or “West” in this blog since 2009). The hatchet is buried. It’s a new day.

As I usually do, I will ask you to keep your comments nice, no name calling and no personal insults – to nobody. Ok, the Sparkly Dressed is able to put bunny ears to her best friend Abigail Anderson, but that’s it.

Take a deep breath, girl.

Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who always has a lot of work to do on Mondays, we had to ran a Google search for Sam Smith. The Princess in Red brought out the 2014 BRIT Critics’ Choice Award winner as her special guest last night, February 2, during the second RED Tour concert at London’s O2. They sang a rendition of Sam Smith’s hit “Money On My Mind”. I must confess I wasn’t familiar with the song or the artist.

You can see more pictures at Daily Mail.

Let’s go to the clip in 5… 4… 3…
