1989 World Tour Sydney: That’s How You Get The Girl, Sydney

That’s how it works, Taylor Nation.

Australia’s got the girl. The Sparkly Dressed is spending the last months of the year down under. She played the ANZ Stadium last night, Saturday November 28. Get used to the time difference if you’re in the Americas. Aussies get bragging rights all the way until Taylor’s birthday (if you don’t know when that is, geddaout!). The Blonde With The Sparkly 1989 Microphone took the stage in Sydney to the delight of the 76,000 people in attendance. It was a full complete set list including both All You Had To Do Was Stay and This Love with the additional surprise song You Are In Love sang acoustic on the B Stage.

No special guests, but there’s plenty of buzz surrounding the cameras during the performance and general notices around the venue informing that the concert was being filmed. A few media outlets have even reported this is for a tour DVD. The concert even has its own gallery at Getty Images. The reviews are already up in news.com.au, who called it, “as far as the big stadium show goes, this was one of the best, beautifully produced and executed by a 25-year-old superstar.” Meanwhile, The Daily Telegraph all but reports tidbits about her possible birthday bash although none of that is fact. So, rumor control here! Taylor might be celebrating her birthday down under. If so, nobody’s privy to the details. You don’t know what you don’t know.

The Enchantress continues her tour in Brisbane, Australia on December 5. The year is going fast!

News Update: Grammy Nominations Concert Live tonight

Did I leave my scarf over there, Taylor Nation?

It looks like the Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar recorded a performance during The RED Tour in Sydney which will be played during the Grammy Nominations Concert Live tonight on CBS. I was hoping for a live performance because… well, the title has the words ‘Concert’ and ‘Live’ on it. The truth is by the Enchantress will be getting ready to play at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia a few hours after the nominations are over. She’s busy enough as it is to start bending time and space.

Word on the street – and by street I mean Twitter – is that it will be a performance of “I Knew You Were Trouble”. Not to be a downer, but it would’ve been great to highlight the fan-favorite “All Too Well”. I guess it’s not considered mainstream enough but we fans know it… all too well.

The show will be broadcast on CBS from 10 to 11pm Eastern Time and Pacific Time (it’s delayed for Pacific Time), and 9 to 10pm Central Time. Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who’d rather hibernate all winter than go outside, we expect RED to be nominated for Album of the Year as well as a nomination for the Sparkly Dressed as a performer. Expect her to be nominated in both Country and Pop categories.

The 2013 American Country Awards airs on December 10. You can still vote for Taylor as Artist of the Year until Saturday, December 7.

Coming up on the Calendar!

  • December 6: The GRAMMY nominations are announced. Taylor performs from Sydney, Australia. Update! Seems this will be a recorded performance.
  • December 7: The RED Tour at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
  • December 10: Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs on CBS. Taylor performs and appears on this, recorded on November 13.
  • December 10: The 2013 American Country Awards on FOX. Taylor has eight nominations.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie: The RED Tour in Sydney, Australia!

G’day, Taylor Nation!

Picture if you will, the Allianz stadium in Sydney, Australia with 40,000 fans in attendance and a silhouette behind a RED curtain. Down under, they don’t need to imagine it anymore. The Sparkly Dressed opened up a can of awesome on her first night, December 4 – her first concert in Australia. It’s warm over there. Here at the Swift Agency, just a guy who forgot his scarf at his sister’s place, we hope you’re enjoying the snow machine. It comes back on December every time.

And the reviews are in!

According to News Limited Network, “Her musicality is undeniable as evidenced by those pristine live vocals which can be tough to push out in such a big crowded space and her playing.”

The Sydney Morning Herald mentions a pop star should have, “an appealing personality, a heap of irresistible anthems and enough slick visuals to make those who have come to see them feel like they’ve got their money’s worth.” Adding also that, “A bit of genuine musical talent doesn’t hurt, either.” Of course, they do attest to the Princess in Red having all those attributes in abundance. However, they’d like shorter speeches (Come on! You gotta love her speeches). Still, a positive note altogether.

The setlist was the same than in New Zealand, with You Belong With Me becoming part of the acoustic set at the B Stage. So far, no surprise guest stars. She also did this adorable chant where she went “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!” and everyone chanted back “OI, OI, OI.” It’s a thing over there. Let’s go to the clip!

Forever and always, Australia! Begin Again on Ellen and more from the 2012 ARIA Awards

G’Day Taylor Nation,

Here at the Swift Agency, one guy who hopes the building turns on the heat real soon, we don’t know about you but I’m feeling 42. It’s cold up north. Our fellow Swifties down under are probably feeling a chill too, but for a different reason. The Enchantress took the long flight back to the US last night… morning… afternoon… ok she’s on her way and crossing a few timezones as we speak.

As reported by T-Swizzle herself, her past performance of Begin Again will finally air on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today. I’m guessing this was the scheduled appearance for Monday that has been moved up for today. This is a taped segment from her past visit that couldn’t air due to exclusivity rights (the 2012 CMA Awards got the Begin Again live debut).

You can see pictures of the Princess in Red at Sydney International on Just Jared. I don’t like to see her leaving to be honest. I’d rather report her arrival. She’ll be landing in LA. She’s scheduled to guest host at American Top 40 over the weekend (December 1st and 2nd). Thanks to @C_Carlson for the heads up. She will be answering fan questions as well.

Here’s the Enchantress presenting at the 2012 ARIA Awards in Sydney on November 29, 2012.
