Hello Taylor Nation!

Here at the Swift Agency, still a guy who’s trying hard not to get sick in a winter wonderland (cough), we’re just letting you know that RED remains at the top of the album charts. It did dropped to number 2 a couple of weeks ago, but it gained back its spot.

The new Bruno Mars album came out moving an respectable 187,339 units, but it wouldn’t be enough. The former Outspoken One’s fourth album actually went up 22% to a respectable 203,333 and gaining the top spot once again. You can see the full album sales list at HITS Daily Double.

According to Country Weekly, Taylor fans in Australia will have an extra reason to rejoice this Christmas. The Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar will visit them during the holiday season to promote her album RED. Thanks to Isabelle Swift‏ for the heads up!

Update! I found the source of this news appears to be ABC News Radio. However, I have found reasons to doubt this is no more than a reprint from her earlier visit this month. Namely, the fact that Big Machine Records has a post about the visit in past tense. That clears it up for me. Sorry for the confusion everyone, that was meant to be about her last visit.

She’s expected back in New York City on December 31 for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

The Sparkly Dressed has been nominated for the 2012 PopCrush Music Awards. She’s up Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together), Album of the Year (RED),  Video of the Year (We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together), Best Live Performer, Biggest Headline (RED), Best Magazine Cover (Glamour), and Best Perfume (Wonderstruck Enchanted). The results are revealed on PopCrush on January 16.

On feline news, here’s Meredith informing Tay that her song is on the radio. That or she wanted to play.

Showcase: The Princess in Red’s acoustic performances from the RED hangout!

Hello Taylor Nation!

Here at the Swift Agency, just one guy who’s getting stressed during the holidays like everyone else, we think that the Enchantress saw that we’re doing the showcase posts and wanted to chip in. Yeah suuure – I’m kidding. It’s just an incredible coincidence that finally we get to hear the first ever performances that some lucky Swifties heard but had to keep quiet until the singles were released. Let’s go the video!

Thanks to… well, Taylor Swift for posting! 🙂

The Sparkly Dressed was nominated for the World Music Awards that happen on Miami, Florida on December 22. She has six awards: World’s Best Album, Song, Video, Female Artist, Live Act and Entertainer of the Year. No, I had no clue these awards existed either. They’re based in Monaco, and “conducted under the patronage of Albert II, Prince of Monaco”. According to Wikipedia, the show acts as a charity for the Monaco Aide and Presence Foundation, which benefits underdeveloped areas mainly in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Brazil.

News Update: Popdust’s Artist of the Year, Paris Match, RED back at #1 and last day to VOTE for the PCAs!

Hello Taylor Nation,

Here at the Swift Agency, just one guy who wishes someone else would do the dishes around here once in a while, we wish all the fans could get together and throw Taylor the most epic of birthday parties but we’ve learned not to dream impossible dreams. Popdust just named the Princess in Red their 2012 Artist of the Year. In her interview, she turns down the idea that she’s an anxious person.

The pictures are from a photoshoot for Parisian magazine Paris Match.

“I wouldn’t say so, no,” the Sparkly Dressed tells Popdust. but I’ve watched so many people’s lives and careers and read so many stories and biographies that I never want to make that crucial mistake that starts you on that downward spiral. I always want to be super self-aware about where I am in life, work hard, and try to do the right thing. And sometimes when you’re trying to do all those things, it can make you kind of nervous. But I also really like to have fun and hang out with my friends. I love living a life that I can then write about. You have to have magic in your life if you’re going to write about it.”

Interestingly enough, they asked her about the twang her voice she used to have when she started. “I think I talk how my friends talk,” she replies. “When I first moved to Nashville I was hanging out with all these kids with Southern accents, and I’d say y’all more and stuff like that. And now, I don’t know, I travel the world and I’ve developed my own way of talking.”

And here’s some insight into All Too Well. “The lyric I’m most proud of is from All Too Well: And you call me up again just to break me like a promise / so casually cruel in the name of being honest. That was something I came up with while ranting during a soundcheck. I was just playing these chords over and over onstage and my band joined in and I went on a rant. Those were some of the lines I thought of.”

The Blonde With the Sparkly Guitar has taken back the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week with RED. With 167,000 sales, it’s up 22% according to Nielsen SoundScan. It’s the album’s fourth non-consecutive week at the top. The first three weeks were all in a row when the album dropped on November 10. As pointed out by Chart News, has sold 20,487,000 albums in the US, which is more than any other artist who has come on the scene in the past 10 years.

MTV will air an interview with the Enchantress and Sway Calloway during the Big and Best of 2012 special. It’s blocked outside the US. Sucks.

Update! The Big & Best of 2012 ustream

A preview of the video for I Knew You Were Trouble was supposed to follow. The full video will debut tomorrow on MTV at 4:40pm ET. Be aware it could be a US only thing as well.

The Sparkly Dressed’s RED album sells 1.21 million on its first week!

(Photo: Sarah Barlow/13 Management)

Hello Taylor Nation,

Here at the Swift Agency, just one guy who’s just shy of a million or two to buy that Maserati, we’re glad to let you know that Hits Double Daily has numbers for the album sales week and guess which album is the winner. I will give you a hint, it’s not blue or dark grey. The Sparkly Dressed’s last album RED makes its triumphant debut with a whopping 1,209,817 in sales in its first week. It is the eighth largest first-week debut in modern chart history.

Considering just the last decade, it’s the highest number for a first week in sales. Comparisons can only be drawn to Eminem’s The Eminem Show which sold 1.3m in June 2002 and The Beatles’ 1 compilation which sold 1.26 in January 2001. The Enchantress also is the first with two first-week million sellers in a row since Eminem. The Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar also sets a record for the largest, non-99-cent-sale-priced digital album. You can read the story at Hits Double Daily.

Taylor wraps up RED Release Week. She will co-host Grammy nominations

(Photo: Doug DuKane/Invision for Papa John’s/AP Images)

Hello Taylor Nation,

Here at the Swift Agency, still just one guy who’s hoping everyone stays safe from Hurricane Sandy, we’re still getting news from everything that happen during release week. Although it’s a wrap don’t expect the Princess in Red to slow down anytime soon. Taylor Swift, herself a six-time grammy winner, will co-host the Grammy nominations concert with LL Cool J. The event airs on December 5 on CBS at  10pm ET/PT, 9pm CT.

The Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar closed the week with a gigantic Worldwide Radio Remote event. According to Billboard, John Zarling VP of Promotion and Media Strategy for Big Machine Label Group explained the cross section of outlets invited the event as “60 percent country radio, 20 percent top 40 or hot AC, and 20 percent international. We’ve got Germany, Spain, Mexico, and two from South Africa. We also had New Zealand, and a couple of phone interviews from India”

“I think this was such an important thing to do for this album launch, because it’s something we’ve never done before,” the Enchantress herself admitted to Billboard. “It’s such an ambitious event — to have 72 stations fly to Nashville, and to accommodate all of them by going live on the air. It’s so unbelievable that they all showed up, and that everyone is here. It reminds me of the award shows, and having a big radio remote. It’s the craziest feeling that they are all here for me. It’s amazing.”
