I’m only me when I’m with you: Taylor talks about her friends

The Outspoken is not one to forget her friends, be it to give them a little nod to share the spotlight or just to let them know she’s thinking of them.

“In my circle of friends I have Emma Stone, Selena Gomez – she’s like my little sister – Hayley Williams and my best friend Abigail from high school,” Taylor said. “We all have crazy schedules but we make our time together count and laugh and have hilarious dinners. It’s nice to have people I consider trustworthy, great friends.”

Taylor Swift is known for being down to earth, and has managed to maintain her songwriting relevant to her audience.

“I’d just give everyone around me a chance to understand what I’m going through. I tell my friends everything I’m feeling and they can relate to any situation I’ve been in,” she added. “Maybe we haven’t lived exactly the same life, but everybody has days when you’re tired or frustrated.”

You can read the original story at Undercover.

Speaking about songwriters, you might remember Liz Rose. She was Taylor’s co-writer for seven songs from her self-titled debut album and four from Fearless. She’s featured in a very interesting article about songwriting in The Tennessean. Liz now has her own publishing company, Liz Rose Music. It’s a very interesting read if you want to go into songwriting.

The following is an older interview from one of Taylor’s visits to Australia. I’m going to guess 2009 based on the reference to the Grammy performance with Miley Cyrus. It’s stuff you already know, but it’s nice to discover a new video that you haven’t seen.

Vodpod videos no longer available.
