Hello Taylor Nation 🙂
It was another of those rollercoasters of a night at the 45th Annual CMA Awards. I know how it goes for fans that were there for Taylor, you saw awards flying left and right and were getting bummed out that the Sparkly Dressed was not getting anything. Then again, she has this comeback quality where she just seems to be fading in the background and suddenly triumphs at the end.
She won for Entertainer of the Year. She won it, again. Personally I have to say, I don’t think there could have been a most deserving person but I’m also going to congratulate the other winners since quite a few people got their moment in the sun.
Taylor Swift was also nominated for Album of the Year for Speak Now, Female Vocalist of the Year, and both Song of the Year and Video of the Year for Mean. She didn’t get those.
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert won for both Male and Female Vocalist for a second year in a row. Jason Aldean won best album for My Kind Of Party. The Band Perry won for Single of the Year and Song of the Year for If I Die Young as well as New Artist Of The Year. Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter won for Video of the Year for You And Tequila. Vocal Group of the Year went to Lady Antebellum. Duo of the Year went to Sugarland.
Taylor performed an acoustic version of her song Ours. I will be honest, she got off to a bit of a shaky start but she recovered quickly. She had a strong finish and was rewarded with a standing ovation.

Taylor did great singing Ours. I thought she can’t sing live. Isn’t that what the haters say? And winning the top award was great. I was hoping if she only won one award it was Entertainer of the Year. She’s the best there is. Mean is a great song and I think should have won Song of the Year but you can’t win them all. It’s still my favorite song.
I see Ours jumped way up the top ten on iTunes. I think it was #6. Now it’s #2. If This Was A Movie is still #1. See what Taylor singing can do? All she had to do for me to become a fan was sing in the Hannah Montana movie. Her song was the best part of that movie.

It’s an honour to be nominated by your fellow CMA members! Congratulations to Taylor for an outstanding year…
