I’m a dead man walking…
With a heavy heart, I have to let you know some sad news. In a statement sent to all fans subscribed to their mailing list, the Civil Wars have announced that they are cancelling their remaining tour dates. The official reasons are internal discord and irreconciliable differences of ambition. Here is the text of the statement:
We sincerely apologize for the canceling of all of our tour dates. It is something we deeply regret. However, due to internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition we are unable to continue as a touring entity at this time. We thank each and every one of you for your amazing love & support. Our sincere hope is to have new music for you in 2013.
– Joy Williams & John Paul White
They’ve added a statement saying they will try to help people who have made travel arrangements get refunded for the abrupt cancellation. Counting myself as one of their fans, I wish whatever differences they are having are resolved… although they are talking very specifically about touring. Hopefully that’s as far as it’s gone. Really hoping to hear new music from them next year.
Can’t no preacher save my soul…
