Taylor’s reaction to being nominated for eight Grammys, including Album and Record of the Year is expected. The 19-year-old, who turns 20 this December 13th, was surprised and freaking out.
“I started freaking out and jumping up and down,” Swift, 19, tells the Associated Press. “I honestly never would have predicted this, eight nominations – I’m ecstatic, and blown away and so, so thankful.”
She was in an Los Angeles hotel room with her mom editing home videos when her producer texted her the news: “AAUUGGH!!!!!”
“To be recognized by the Grammys is the ultimate honor, and all I know is that when I write about this in my journal tonight it will be in all capital letters and underlined four times, and there will be lots of exclamation points in this entry because I never imagined I’d get to write this kind of journal entry,” Swift says. “The thought of that absolutely is something that you daydream about.”
But the Fearless One has her chilled moments too. She was out with her gal pal Selena Gomez, sporting straight hair, at Mozza restaurant on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles on Wednesday (December 2), the next day after the nominations were announced. Someone out there slowed down the video for the short frames in which Taylor appears in a bikini or short shorts and cut down the rest of the footage. If you’re looking for that version don’t let me stop you.
