Taylor Swift is Billboard’s Artist of the Year

Taylor Swift is the Artist of the Year according to Billboard magazine, adding yet one more accolade to the Fearless One’s impressive long list of achievements.

She is also the Female Artist of the Year. The Male Artist of the Year is some guy whose name I don’t remember (it is called sarcasm, people).

Here is the Billboard Magazine Q&A.

The article also includes a video, which I will embed below from Billboard Magazine’s Official YouTube.  Just so you know, this is not really a recent video. It was actually posted back in October 26 this year (2009).  It doesn’t really follow the article but a previous interview preceding the re-launch of Taylor’s Fearless album.

Of course, you might remember that back when Taylor was only 16 and still breaking into the business she had a number 60 hit song on the Billboard charts called Tim McGraw. No? Okey, let’s take a trip down memory lane then. Here’s Taylor Swift herselft at Billboard magazine singing her first song on the charts.

And just because I’m feeling nostalgic, here’s a home video of Taylor showing that her song is number 60 on the Billboard chart, going for a radio interview and, believe or not, rapping for the first time. Also, catch a rare look at Emily Poe, who used to played the fiddle for Taylor, at a soundcheck. She would later leave to be replaced by miss Caitlin Evanson.

Did you know Taylor used to open the show with a mini cover of Eminem’s Lose Yourself right before going into Our Song? I will leave that for another time. Congratulations, T-Swizzle!
