He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named at the VMA 2010

No, this is not an entry about Harry Potter’s main villain.

Let’s report some Swiftie news first. According to Billboard, the blond with the guitar (who never forgets the essence of her sparkle) entered the Hot 100 with her new single Mine at the third place in the chart. As a reference, her previous single, Today Was A Fairytale, remains her best entrance. It was #2 the first time it entered the charts back in February. The Fearless One opened at number 1 for digital downloads with 297,000 downloads.

She’s also been added as the number one celebrity bowler according to online voting according to the Associated Press.

And she’s nominated for a VMA Female Video of the Year award. You should vote vote vote.

The Video Music Awards air on MTV Network channels on September 12 at 9/8c.

Which brings us to one particular news item that I’ve been avoiding to comment for a while now. Mr. Interruptus Vulgaris, the culprit behind the hopefully defunct internet meme from last year, the individual who actually interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for the same award on 2009… is set to perform this year.

If you have ever visited this blog, you might have noticed that I never, ever, EVER, say his name. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (and this is not Tom Riddle’s alter ego) gets ZERO publicity here.

But now he gets to perform. In the same show where T-Swizzle is set to receive an award. Honestly, as much as I’d love to see her attend an award show again, I’m almost thinking she should skip this one. However the Fearless One doesn’t back away easily. I mean other people would hide from all cameras and start a rumor they’ve gone to India to meditate and “find yourself” (and when you do, get lost).

But Taylor Swift, the Sparkly Dressed, might opt to forgive and forget. Which is fine. That being said,  I’m sure MTV is going to try to poke fun at the year-old gaffe that became an internet meme. That’s why I want Taylor to bring her cowboy boots and have spurs set on them. Let me state that I have no quarrel (okey perhaps a little one) with that rapper whose name I can’t recall. I’m just plainly not mentioning him here.

Rant over.

Go vote for Taylor Swift. Vote Vote Vote!!!
