As far as I’m concerned. An editorial

Hello, Taylor Nation.

Pretty uneventful week, eh? Here at the offices of the Swift Agency, we’ve been busy. The Ninja department is nowhere to be seen as usual (those guys are good) but they’re specially quiet as of late. We found a picture of some bearded dude. It had ninja stars stuck on it… no idea what that’s all about. Mr. Nobody (yeah that’s what his moniker is going to be) keeps leaving messages in our answering machine. We can barely understand what he’s saying but it sounds something like CALL THEM OFF CALL THEM OFF OMG.

Ok, I’m sorry. Let’s recap. I’m just one dude that had to get that off my system. Let’s drop the shenanigans and get serious. Don’t worry, by the time I’m done I’ll make sure the Ninja department is back to its regular invisible activities.

First let’s see the facts. Mr. Nobody decided to attack Taylor Swift during an interview. He just was talking about the music industry in general, singled her out, said he was embarrassed about adults saying that Miss Swift is talented and then he said she looks cute but she is horrible. Then he went on to talk about artists nowadays been manufactured by the music industry, being told what to wear and what to say and how the music is not about being on key but about emotionality. You can read about it in AceShowBiz.

The Fearless One’s only alleged sin is being accused of not being on key. She’s more than emotionally connected to her music, she is emotionally compromised to it. Most of her songs are based on emotions and some of them even directly allude to her own experiences. She’s even been accused of being too emotional about her songwriting. She dresses conservatively, she doesn’t drink, she doesn’t go out clubbing, she’s been praised for being the ultimate original artists: a clean one. She runs her own career and approaches her public with her heart on her sleeve.

And also this week, we’ve also had a bit of an breakthrough/breakdown in Twitter, of all places. The rapper whose name I often forget, now displaced to public enemy number two, has taken to twitter to… apologize. If you have a good memory, you will remember he did apologize to Taylor in a private phone call and the Fearless One accepted his apology. That was that between them, but the internet (translation: the general public) made a meme out of the situation and kept it going for longer than it needed to be.

Now the rapper has several tweets posted during close to an hour period in which he apologizes, explains, justifies, and finally gets to the “I’m sorry Taylor” after even offering a rather strange offering: A song for her to sing. She writes her own, thank you very much. One wonders if his Twitter barrage was at all motivated by the upcoming MTV VMAs or the recent VMAs: Revealed special that aired yesterday.

And once again, Taylor Swift, 20 years old, will have to be the bigger person while the older people in the entertainment biz throw a tantrum. Seriously speaking, if Taylor Swift has forgiven him so will I. At least he didn’t call her any names. On the other issue, Mr. Nobody is rarely on the spotlight this days so this cry for attention should just receive silence as a response.

A lot will be asked of the Fearless One on September 12. A LOT. The MTV Video Music Awards has nominated her for Female Video of the Year. I almost don’t want her to attend – almost. Regardless of her winning or not, I know the Fearless One will conduct herself with that demeanor which seems to be particularly rare in the business: a mature responsible adult.

You know as far as I’m concerned…

I said as far as I’m concerned…

You’re gonna be…

You’re gonna be…

Oh, you’re gonna beeee….

Just anoooOOOoo-ther…

Pictureeeee…
