Hello Taylor Nation,
This is the story of Kadie Stonebraker, a four year old diagnosed with cancer. According to The Punxsutawney Spirit, Kadie was a big fan and had tried to meet Taylor a few times. She even got a custom made dress from her favorite Taylor Swift video Love Story thanks to Jackie Phillips, a local hospital worker who examined the video.
She did managed to go to a couple of Taylor Swift concert. Even though she was feeling very ill that day, she went to the concert at Heinz Field in Philadelphia. Some problems arose and she couldn’t meet her idol. A cousin of hers, Nicole, managed to get into the Meet and Greet and told the Sparkly Dressed about Kadie. Taylor sent some guitar pics as well as a bracelet to the brave little girl.
Using Facebook pages and Twitter messages, friends got out the word that Kadie wanted to meet the Enchantress. Kadie’s mother was overwhelmed by the response.
The Stonebrakers tried again during Taylor’s concert in Cleveland in July. She managed to meet one of Taylor’s guitar players (the article doesn’t specify if this is Grant or Paul) but they couldn’t get Kadie to meet her idol, although she enjoyed the concert immensely.
However, the Queen of Sparks manage to send over some gifts to Kadie, including a Taylor Swift doll and an autographed picture that said, “I love you, Kadie.” Kadie slept with her Taylor Swift doll every night.
On Thursday last week, August 11, Kadie received a personal phone call with Taylor Swift on the other side of the line. Her mother was thankful for all the attention of all the people that had gotten involved that made that happen.

The morning of Saturday, August 13, just two days after finally talking to her idol, little Kadie passed away.
Taylor works very closely with the Make A Wish foundation, which grants wishes to kids with terminal illness. As a matter of fact, as I learned myself during the time where I wrote about Jessica Cannito last year, the Outspoken One meets at least one kid from the Make A Wish foundation every concert. Not surprisingly, it’s a very long list.
Never lose the essence of your sparkle.
