Here at the Swift Agency, still one guy who doesn’t know when to quit, we like to highlight other artists once in a while. Case and point, one of Taylor’s own opening acts, Hunter Hayes. He’s had a great 2011, with his first self-titled album and a successful single, Storm Warning. Now he’s joining Rascal Flatts on tour as one of their opening acts.

According to USA Today, the Louisiana native has been inspired by Taylor Swift’s idea of writing lyrics on her arm. He’s starting writing them on the pick guard of his guitar, a Fender Stratocaster.

“I’m taking a little page out of Taylor’s book — I hope she doesn’t mind,” he tells USA Today‘s Brian Mansfield. “I love that she did that. I don’t have enough time to do a cover song in my show, so this is my way of telling people what inspires me.”

He’s also going a bit further by writing the lyrics to his songs with chalkboard over his gear.

“I want the audience to sing along,” Hunter explains. “If you don’t know the lyrics, they’re all over the stuff on stage. You can’t miss it.”
