I’m so glad you made time to see me. Taylor at Scholastic, Madame Tussaud’s and JFK

The Outspoken One’s last moments in New York this Wednesday, October 27, were scheduled down with public appearances, including the much anticipated unveiling of Taylor Swift’s likeness in wax at Madame Tussaud’s in Times Square. MTV News reported the event was filled with both fans and reporters trying to catch a glimpse of both the Outspoken One and her non-speaking and considerably less excitable twin.

I can’t help but agree with E! Online‘s assessment, though. They didn’t quite get the curls right. Here’s video from Popstar Magazine:

Earlier in the day, Taylor spent the day at Scholastic taking part in a live streaming event for classrooms around the world as part of the promotional campaign “You Are What You Read” that seeks to inspire kids to read using public figures. Taylor’s event was called “Read Now with Taylor Swift.” You can read about the event in the Associated Press. We love that she sang Faith Hill’s This Kiss. Do a cover, Tay! 🙂

“(Without books) You can let little things pass you by, little details,” she said. “Like, say you’re driving down the road and there’s just this really beautiful autumn tree and it has these gorgeous orange leaves. You might just let that pass you by if you have never read books that describe how beautiful they are, from somebody else’s perspective.”

The Outspoken One wrapped up her trip to New York by offering a concert right in the airport. The concert was part of JetBlue’s T5 Concert series. After the concert Taylor and her entourage along with contest winners took a chartered flight to Los Angeles that will included an concert during the flight.

That beats the heck out of the usual in flight movie, eh?

Let’s check the Calendar while Tay heads up to L.A. She’s not going to sleep while she’s on the plane, but at least I can. Then again, I wouldn’t put it past her to show up in the news during flight.

Tomorrow, October 28, Taylor is expected at the taping of the Ellen DeGeneres Show in Los Angeles, California. The show will celebrate the release of Speak Now by once again devoting an entire hour-long show to throwing Taylor’s official album release party. Remember you can participate in Ellen’s Ultimate Taylor Swift Fan contest! The show airs November 1st.

I still have this mystery event on October 29 in the Calendar. Taylor Swift performs at a yet to be announced venue in Los Angeles, California. Details at 1iota.com. My guess is that is another surprise concert like the rooftop one in New York that will end up in the thanksgiving special.

The Royal Caribbean International contest The Allure of Taylor Swift entry period closes October 29! The cruise dates are tentatively scheduled for January 16-23, 2011. Sorry, only US residents eligible. Make sure you enter!
