Hello Country Music fans!
Ask anyone that has lived in Nashville all their life and they’ll call it the Fan Fair. The name changed to CMA Music Festival once the CMA took over the organization. At the heart of it, it’s still a fan fair and one of the things you should do if you ever attend is go to the convention center.
I will be trying to walk a thin line here between showing the CMA Fest for new readers and not repeating the same topics from the Nashville Diaries last year.
This year the system is a bit more of a lottery, but up and coming artists still are willing to meet you without a ticket. Some lines have also kept the “hopeful” line meaning that should the artist have some extra minutes after all the ticket holders are done, some lucky fans from the hopeful line may still get to meet their star of choice.

The Fan Fair Hall is an actual convention, with booths, merchandise, contests, promotions and a little bit of everything. It’s also where the country music artists attend the Meet & Greet lines that are so avidly sought by fans.
It also includes Country music memorabilia. For example, I found these dresses in the Big Machine Label booth that were worn by the Enchantress herself.
The first dress is from the 44th CMA Awards, the second one is from the Fearless Tour’s opening performance of You Belong With Me, the third one is from Love Story and the fourth one is the one she used for her opening monologue (la la la!) when hosting Saturday Night Live.
Yes, I have close up pics. I’ll probably have to get all the pics into a gallery soon, but that’s going to have to wait for when I have my broadband internet back.

I also found the CEO of Big Machine Label, Mr. Scott Borchetta himself. I exchanged a few words with him and then asked for a picture. He was very kind to agree to that.
It wasn’t a Meet and Greet, or anything like that. He was just standing close to the Big Machine booth where he was going to do a Q&A session.
I told him a little of what I do here with my blog and he politely thanked me for supporting the Sparkly Dressed. I’ve met him before but if the first time ever we actually have a conversation. It was a bit surreal – meaning I still can’t believe I talked to the guy.
More from the CMA Fan Fair Hall soon! In the meantime, take a look a the Riverfront Stage below.
