Hello Taylor Nation,
Here at the Swift Agency, one guy who is about to get wordy, we’ll start with the usual disclaimer. This is an Editorial, which is my personal opinion on a subject. Blogs are personal opinions, but on most of mine I try to report the news as accurate as possible. And add a few jokes and ninjas.
Carrie Underwood has never had a feud with Taylor Swift. Nor Taylor has ever had any feud with Carrie. There. Done. It’s over. You wouldn’t know it by the way social networking works though. With both artists usually running for awards in the same categories, Carrie’s fanbase and the Taylor Nation have been known to clash, unbeknownst to both Ms. Underwood and the Sparkly Dressed.
This is not helped by the media, who would just love to have a all-out feud in their hands. Carrie is touring the United Kingdom when BANG Showbiz interviewed her and decided to bring up the comparison between her and the Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar. The quotes are via entertainmentwise.com.
“I feel like we’re definitely completely different artists,” was Carrie’s reaction to the comparison. “That is something that’s so cool about country music because everyone has their own thing.” She then added, “I’m a little bit older than she is and I feel like our music’s completely different and if anyone tries to make any comparisons they really haven’t listened to either one of us.”
You can say she’s dismissing the comparison, or rejecting it, but pray tell – can someone show me where she said she “hated” being compared to the Enchantress? I can’t find that part anywhere (hint: you won’t find it – she never said it). Here’s more:

“Our songs are definitely different. She sings a little bit lighter sometimes and it’s just a difference in our brand of country. For me it’s more exciting than anything if somebody likes me and start listening to country music over other all those other artists. People want so much ‘real country music’, but for me it’s cool that we can bring more people into country music by being different.”
That’s all. I don’t believe Carrie would ever alienate that part of her fanbase that are citizens of the Taylor Nation. I certainly like Carrie’s music as well. I also find it a bit jarring for an artist to be asked about another popular artist in an interview just to have people focus solely on that topic. Once again, as I always do, I am moderating the comments so insults to Carrie will not be tolerated the same way as I’ve never tolerated insults to Miranda. To be fair, I don’t tolerate insults in general. Be kind and we can all get along.
