Hello Taylor Nation,
Here at the Swift Agency, just one guy who wishes someone else would do the dishes around here once in a while, we wish all the fans could get together and throw Taylor the most epic of birthday parties but we’ve learned not to dream impossible dreams. Popdust just named the Princess in Red their 2012 Artist of the Year. In her interview, she turns down the idea that she’s an anxious person.
The pictures are from a photoshoot for Parisian magazine Paris Match.
“I wouldn’t say so, no,” the Sparkly Dressed tells Popdust. but I’ve watched so many people’s lives and careers and read so many stories and biographies that I never want to make that crucial mistake that starts you on that downward spiral. I always want to be super self-aware about where I am in life, work hard, and try to do the right thing. And sometimes when you’re trying to do all those things, it can make you kind of nervous. But I also really like to have fun and hang out with my friends. I love living a life that I can then write about. You have to have magic in your life if you’re going to write about it.”
Interestingly enough, they asked her about the twang her voice she used to have when she started. “I think I talk how my friends talk,” she replies. “When I first moved to Nashville I was hanging out with all these kids with Southern accents, and I’d say y’all more and stuff like that. And now, I don’t know, I travel the world and I’ve developed my own way of talking.”
And here’s some insight into All Too Well. “The lyric I’m most proud of is from All Too Well: And you call me up again just to break me like a promise / so casually cruel in the name of being honest. That was something I came up with while ranting during a soundcheck. I was just playing these chords over and over onstage and my band joined in and I went on a rant. Those were some of the lines I thought of.”

The Blonde With the Sparkly Guitar has taken back the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week with RED. With 167,000 sales, it’s up 22% according to Nielsen SoundScan. It’s the album’s fourth non-consecutive week at the top. The first three weeks were all in a row when the album dropped on November 10. As pointed out by Chart News, has sold 20,487,000 albums in the US, which is more than any other artist who has come on the scene in the past 10 years.
MTV will air an interview with the Enchantress and Sway Calloway during the Big and Best of 2012 special. It’s blocked outside the US. Sucks.

A preview of the video for I Knew You Were Trouble was supposed to follow. The full video will debut tomorrow on MTV at 4:40pm ET. Be aware it could be a US only thing as well.
